Job summary

American Traveler is hiring an RN - Operating Room in Wisconsin for a surgery center position requiring OR experience, floating and call coverage.

The role requires active WI or compact RN license, BLS/ACLS, 2 years OR experience, Ep ic EMR competence, and the ability to circulate, make independent decisions, and multi-task. First-time travelers welcome; local candidates accepted at same pay rate.

Qualifications

• BLS and ACLS certifications required.
• Minimum 2 years of OR nursing experience required.
• Must be able to circulate and make independent critical decisions.
• Ability to multi-task and adapt to changing situations.

Responsibilities

• Surgery center setting with 3 ORs supporting inpatient, outpatient, and ER cases.
• Case mix includes General, GYN, ENT, Urology, Ortho, Podiatry, and Vascular surgeries.
• Pediatric cases seen with ENT, typically once per week (5-10% of caseload).
• 8-hour day shift schedule from 0645-1515, 40 hours per week.
• Floating required to two additional sites with weekly schedule provided.
• On-call every 6th weekend (Fri afternoon-Mon morning) with 30-minute response time.
• Uses Epic EMR, Pyxis, and Alaris equipment.
• 123-bed Trauma Level III facility with Primary Stroke Center designation.
• Orientation consists of 1-3 shifts based on comfort level.
• Holiday coverage required for one summer and one winter holiday.

American Traveler is hiring an RN - Operating Room with WI or compact RN license and 2 years of OR experience for a surgery center position requiring floating and call coverage.

Requirements

• Active WI or compact RN license required
• Current BLS and ACLS certification required
• Minimum 2 years of OR nursing experience required
• Minimum 12 months of core experience in specialty area within the last year
• Must be able to circulate, make independent critical decisions, multi-task, and recognize situational changes requiring intervention
• Epic EMR experience required
• Candidate's middle name or initial, DOB, and last 4 of SSN required for consideration
• Minimum 1 professional reference dated within the last year from a Supervisor, Manager, Director, or Charge RN

Responsibilities

• Surgery center setting with 3 ORs supporting inpatient, outpatient, and ER cases
• Case mix includes General, GYN, ENT, Urology, Ortho, Podiatry, and Vascular surgeries
• Pediatric cases seen with ENT, typically once per week (5-10% of caseload)

• Floating required to two additional sites with weekly schedule provided
• On-call required every 6th weekend (Friday afternoon-Monday morning) and one night per week with a 30-minute response time
• Uses Epic EMR, Pyxis, and Alaris equipment
• 123-bed Trauma Level III facility with Primary Stroke Center designation
• Support on the unit includes a non-assignment charge nurse, on-site surgeon and anesthesia during cases, surgery scheduler, and OR aid
• Orientation consists of 1-3 shifts based on comfort level
• Holiday coverage required for one summer and one winter holiday
• Procedural scrubs provided
• COVID vaccination required
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Local candidates accepted at the same pay rate with no radius restrictions
• Former employees of the health system or its subsidiaries must be separated at least 12 months before becoming eligible for travel assignments
• Time off requests must be approved through the manager
