Job summary

American Traveler is seeking an experienced OR RN for a 13-week acute care assignment in South Carolina, requiring 2+ years of OR nursing and a broad range of surgical specialty skills. You will work 4x10 hour day shifts (6:45am–3:15pm) with weekend coverage and on‑call rotations; Epic charting is used and Da Vinci Xi/Hana Table experience is valued.

Qualifications

• Active SC RN license or Compact license required before start.
• BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required.
• Minimum 2 years of OR nursing experience required.
• Previous travel nurse experience required.
• Experience with a broad range of surgical procedures including gynecological, orthopedic, neurological, general surgery, urological, podiatric, and ophthalmological cases.

Responsibilities

• Acute care hospital setting in the Operating Room department.
• 119 staffed beds.
• 4x10 hour day shifts, 6:45am-3:15pm.
• Weekend coverage required, typically every 4th weekend.
• On-call required on a rotating basis, weekday call hours 3pm-7am.
• Floating within scope required to meet facility needs, including sister facilities.
• Uses Epic charting system.
• Surgical scrubs provided.
• Case types include gynecology, general surgery, orthopedics, neurology, urology, podiatry, ophthalmology, and trauma procedures.
• Utilizes Da Vinci Xi Surgical System and Hana Table.
• Provide perioperative nursing care across a variety of surgical specialties in the OR.
• Block scheduling requests may be submitted for approval but are not guaranteed.
• Facility may cancel up to 1 shift per 2 weeks.
• Local candidates accepted on a case-by-case basis at a reduced rate.
• Non-local candidates are prioritized; local radius rule is 60 miles.
• Previous MUSC perm or PRN staff must be separated from the system for 1 year before returning as a traveler.
• All RTO must be submitted at time of application for consideration.
• During hurricane season (June-November), staff may be assigned to emergency response teams.
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply.
