American Traveler, LLC. is hiring an experienced OR RN for a Level II Trauma acute care hospital in Alaska. A valid AK RN license and at least 2 years of operating room experience are required, with 1:1 patient ratios and Epic charting experience.

The position offers day shifts (4x10 or 3x12), weekend work, and on-call only for coverage gaps. Housing options and travel benefits provided in a Magnet-designated facility with 407 beds.

Qualifications

BLS certification required.
ACLS and CNOR certifications preferred.
Experience with 1:1 patient ratios.
Epic charting experience required.
Level I Trauma experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Acute hospital setting in the Operating Room department.
Perform circulating and scrub duties across surgical specialties.
Uses Epic charting system; surgical cases including general, orthopedic, neuro, vascular, thoracic, urology, ENT, gynecologic.
May float to like units; on-call limited to call-offs.
Work 2 of 3 major holidays; weekend shifts.
Housing options may be limited; free parking.

Job description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced OR RN for a Level II Trauma acute care hospital, requiring an active AK RN license and prior operating room experience.

Requirements

Active AK RN license required in hand prior to offer
Minimum 2 years of recent Operating Room RN experience
BLS certification required
ACLS and CNOR certifications preferred
Experience with 1:1 patient ratios
Epic charting experience required
Level I Trauma experience preferred
2 supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years required
Current certifications must be submitted for consideration
Hepatitis B vaccination required (titers or declinations not accepted)

Responsibilities

Acute hospital setting in the Operating Room department
Magnet-designated, Level II Trauma facility recognized as a USNWR Best Hospital in Alaska
407 staffed beds
Day shift schedule of either 4x10 or 3x12 hour shifts, with start times varying between 0645-1915 or 0900-2130
Weekend work required
On-call limited to coverage for call-offs only
May float to like units within the hospital or affiliate hospitals as needed
Uses Epic charting system
Scrubs provided by facility
Free parking available
Perform circulating and scrub duties across a wide range of surgical specialties including general, orthopedic, neuro, vascular, thoracic, urology, ENT, and gynecologic surgery
Experience with robotic-assisted surgery systems (Da Vinci Xi, Mazor) a plus
Must be willing to work 2 of the 3 major holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's
Candidates must live at least 50 miles from the facility to be considered, as local candidates are not accepted
First-time travelers are not accepted for this role
Former permanent Providence staff must be separated for at least 3 months before returning as a traveler
Travelers may work a maximum of 1 calendar year at this facility, followed by a required 6-month break before returning
All requested time off must be submitted and approved at the time of offer
