American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN - Operating Room/Circulating nurse for Alaska. You must hold an active AK RN license and have 3+ years of OR experience to apply. The role features a 13-week assignment with 4/10-hour shifts (Tue–Fri) and on-call coverage on a 1/3 rotation, nights, holidays, and weekends.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Handle elective and emergent OR cases across multiple specialties.
• 13-week assignment with 4/10-hour shifts Tue–Fri.
• On-call coverage 1/3 rotating, nights/holidays/weekends.
• Multi-task to keep surgical cases on schedule.
• Experience in rural/CAH OR settings preferred.

Job description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN - Operating Room/Circulating nurse requiring an active AK RN license and 3+ years of OR experience.

Requirements

• Active, unrestricted AK RN license required at time of submission
• Graduate of an accredited nursing program (BSN, ADN, or Diploma)
• High school diploma or GED
• Minimum 3 years of OR experience required
• Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required

Responsibilities

• Works in the Operating Room handling elective and emergency surgical cases including abdominal, thoracic, urology, ENT, plastic, orthopedic, vascular, and OB/GYN procedures
• 13-week assignment with 4/10-hour shifts, Tuesday through Friday
• On-call coverage required on a 1/3 rotating share basis, covering nights, holidays, and weekends
• Efficiently multi-tasks to ensure surgical cases proceed in a timely manner throughout the day
• Experience in Critical Access Hospital and/or rural Operating Room settings strongly preferred
• Start date will be no less than 5 weeks after fingerprint cards are processed
• First-time travelers with OR experience are welcome to apply
