Job summary

American Traveler in Texas is looking for an experienced Circulating RN for the Operating Room who brings trauma experience and on-call availability to a hospital setting. The role requires TX license, NLN-approved RN program, BSN preferred, and ACLS/BLS/PALS.

Qualifications

• Active RN license in TX or compact required.
• Graduate of accredited or NLN-approved RN program.
• BSN highly desired.
• BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required.
• Minimum 3 years Operating Room experience.
• Trauma experience required.
• US hospital OR experience with 2+ years.

Responsibilities

• Circulating RN duties in OR for operative procedures.
• Mon-Fri 7:00–15:30; on-call for trauma coverage.
• Possible evenings, nights, and weekends call shifts.
• Holiday call duties for major holidays.
• Prepare OR and assemble implants and equipment.
• Adhere to aseptic techniques and standards.
• Coordinate intraoperative patient care with the team.
• Serve as liaison between patients, families and operating team.
• Must reside at least 100 miles from facility.

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Circulating RN for an Operating Room position requiring trauma experience and on-call availability for a hospital in Texas.

Requirements

• Active TX or compact RN license required, no pending licenses accepted
• Graduate of an accredited or NLN-approved RN program required
• BSN highly desired
• AHA-certified BLS, ACLS, and PALS required
• Minimum 3 years of Operating Room experience required
• Trauma experience required
• At least 2 years of prior work experience in a US hospital in the OR specialty required

Responsibilities

• Operating Room department with circulating RN duties for operative procedures
• Monday-Friday 8-hour day shifts (0700-1530)
• On-call shifts required to provide trauma coverage, varying based on staffing needs
• Potential call shifts covering evenings, nights, and weekends (1530-1900, 1900-0700, and weekend 12-hour blocks)
• Holiday call required for Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve night, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve night, and New Year's Day
• Perform scrubbing and/or circulating duties for operative procedures and department admissions to the operative suite
• Adhere to standards and appropriate aseptic techniques
• Coordinate with team members to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate intraoperative patient care plans
• Serve as a communication liaison between patients, families, and the operating team
• Prepare the operating room and assemble equipment and supplies, ensuring functionality and availability of implants
• Must reside at least 100 miles from the facility; local candidates not accepted
