American Traveler is seeking an experienced NICU RN for a Level 1 Trauma Center in Illinois. Requires IL RN license, 2+ years NICU experience, and Cerner charting proficiency. Candidates should have NICU care skills for neonates across gestational ages, ventilator management, and G-tube feeding. Location-based perks and travel considerations apply.

Qualifications

Active IL RN license required in hand upon consideration (no pending licenses).
Current certifications: BLS, NRP, and NIHSS.
Minimum 2 years NICU experience.
Cerner charting experience required.
Experience with IV therapy, arterial line management, and central line care.
Ventilator management experience (AC/PC/SIMV/CPAP/BIPAP/PEEP).
Two professional references from most recent employers.

Responsibilities

NICU unit at a Level 1 Trauma Center hospital.
Night shift, 3x12 hours (7:00 PM - 7:30 AM).
Every other weekend required (2 weekends per month).
No on-call requirements; float within facility and across units.
May float to other Cook facilities within 50 miles with 2 hours notice.
Uses Cerner charting system.
Provide NICU care including dysrhythmia interpretation and management.
Care for neonates with abstinence syndrome and GI/respiratory needs.
RTO limited to 5 days; no weekend RTO; no holiday RTO.

American Traveler is hiring an experienced NICU RN for a Level 1 Trauma Center requiring an IL RN license and prior NICU experience.

Requirements

Active IL RN license required in hand upon consideration (no pending licenses accepted)
Current certifications: BLS, NRP, and NIHSS
Minimum 2 years of NICU experience required
Cerner charting experience required
Experience with IV therapy, arterial line management, and central/implanted line care
Experience attending high-risk deliveries preferred
Experience with neonates 29-34 weeks and >34 weeks gestation
Ventilator management experience (AC/PC/SIMV/CPAP/BIPAP/PEEP)
Experience with feedings (bottle, breast, gavage) and G-tube feeding
Two professional references required from most recent employers prior to start
Proof of COVID vaccination required (booster not required)

Responsibilities

NICU unit at a Level 1 Trauma Center hospital
Night shift, 3x12 hours (7:00 PM - 7:30 AM), no block scheduling
Every other weekend required (2 weekends per month)
No on-call requirements
Mandatory float facility - floating required within scope and across units at facility discretion
May be required to float to other Cook facilities within 50 miles with as little as 2 hours notice
Uses Cerner charting system
Provide NICU care including dysrhythmia interpretation and management, neurologic care, and isolation precautions/PPE
Care for patients with neonatal abstinence syndrome and gastrointestinal/respiratory needs
No guaranteed home unit - may be floated to a variety of units including outside primary competency area with team-based support
RTO limited to 5 days max with no more than 2 consecutive days; no RTO permitted on weekends
No holiday RTO and no RTO the day before or after a holiday
Scrubs of any color permitted
Local candidates accepted and preferred within 75-mile radius of the facility
Returning candidates must undergo full recredentialing and orientation, even after a break in contract of less than 30 days
Lab work must be completed within 72 hours of accepting the assignment
