Job summary

American Traveler, LLC. is seeking an experienced NICU RN for a 13-week night shift assignment in Illinois. Active IL RN license and NRP/ BLS are required. The role focuses on neonatal care in a hospital setting with three 12-hour night shifts weekly.

Prospective candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility. Benefits include housing allowance, travel and licensure reimbursement, and non-taxed per diem. RTO limited to 7 days per contract, with no on-call or floating.

Qualifications

  • Active Illinois RN license in good standing (temporary license accepted).
  • BLS certification (American Heart Association).
  • NRP certification (American Heart Association).
  • Minimum 2-3 years of relevant nursing experience.
  • ASN required, BSN preferred.
  • Epic charting experience; Level 1 trauma experience.

Responsibilities

  • NICU setting within a hospital.
  • Neonatal patient population.
  • Three 12-hour night shifts per week, totaling 36 hours weekly.
  • Holiday coverage required per rotation.
  • Weekend shifts required per rotation.
  • No on-call requirements.
  • No floating required.
  • Uses bar code scanning for medication administration.
  • Uses Epic EMR for charting.
  • Serve as primary caregiver for an assigned group of neonatal patients, utilizing the nursing process and current care standards.
  • Complete initial patient assessments and develop individualized plans of care based on patient and family needs.
  • Monitor intake and output for assigned neonatal patients.
  • Assist mothers with breastfeeding initiation and baby-friendly care practices.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary rounds to report on patient status.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date nursing documentation.
  • Identify and report safety hazards to ensure patient and employee safety.
  • Contribute to peer professional development through constructive feedback and collaboration.

  • RTO limited to no more than 7 total days per 13-week contract
  • Workers may not remain on continuous assignment at this health system for more than 1 year without a 6-month break in service
