Job summary

American Traveler, LLC. is seeking an experienced RN for a Mother-Baby / Couplet Care / Post Partum role in Colorado. Requires a CO or Compact RN license, BLS/NRP, and 2+ years in NB/PP care; travel nursing experience is required.

Responsibilities include care of postpartum mothers and newborns, shifts of 7:00-19:30 and 19:00-7:30, with on-call and weekend requirements. Epic EMR experience is preferred; housing and travel logistics will be handled by the agency.

Qualifications

• Active RN license (CO or Compact) required.
• Current certifications: BLS and NRP (AHA); AWHONN Intermediate and CLC preferred.
• Minimum 2 years in Mother-Baby/Post Partum nursing.
• Prior travel nursing experience required.
• Community hospital experience preferred.
• Experience with IV therapy, blood products, and medication administration.

Responsibilities

• Work in the Mother-Baby / Couplet Care / Post Partum unit.
• Rotating day/night shifts (3x12 hours), 7:00-19:30 and 19:00-7:30.
• 21 staffed beds with a 1:6 nurse-to-patient ratio.
• Weekend shifts required per unit needs.
• On-call requirement of 2 call shifts per 6-week schedule.
• Floating within scope to meet facility needs.

Job description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Mother-Baby / Couplet Care / Post Partum position requiring 2+ years of unit experience and a CO or compact RN license.

Requirements

• Active RN license (CO or Compact) required
• Current certifications: BLS and NRP (AHA); AWHONN Intermediate and CLC preferred
• Minimum 2 years of Mother-Baby/Post Partum nursing experience required
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Community hospital experience preferred
• Experience with IV therapy, administration of blood and blood products, and medication administration (antihypertensives, magnesium sulfate, pitocin)
• Experience with newborn care including cord care, newborn assessment, phototherapy, and discharge teaching
• Experience with postpartum care including fundus/lochia/perineum care, breastfeeding instruction, and care of cesarean section and vaginal delivery patients
• Experience in isolation precautions/PPE and vaccine administration
• Experience with pain management including opioids and PCA use

Responsibilities

• Work in the Mother-Baby / Couplet Care / Post Partum unit of a hospital setting
• Rotating day/night shifts (3x12 hours), 7:00-19:30 and 19:00-7:30
• 21 staffed beds with a 1:6 nurse-to-patient ratio
• Weekend shifts required per unit needs
• On-call requirement of 2 call shifts per 6-week schedule
• Floating required within scope to meet facility needs

• Scrubs provided
• Provide couplet care to postpartum mothers and newborns, including assessment, education, and procedural support
• Responsibilities include newborn care for infants with hypoglycemia, low birth weight, or large for gestational age status
• Support for patients experiencing postpartum hemorrhage, pregnancy-induced hypertension, and multiple births
• Completion of all facility-specific training modules required within the first week of assignment
• First-time travelers are not accepted for this position
• Maximum of 10 RTO days per 13-week contract, with blackout dates during high-census periods
• No blocked scheduling requests permitted
• Candidates previously employed by the health system may not be eligible for consideration
• Local candidates residing within 75 miles of the facility are accepted
