Job summary

American Traveler, LLC. is hiring an experienced RN for a Post Partum/Mother Baby unit at a Level 1 trauma facility. The role includes a 28-bed unit, 3:1 patient ratios, and care for vaginal and cesarean deliveries with conditions like preeclampsia and diabetes.

Cerner EMR is used, with 12-hour night shifts and fixed weekend/holiday coverage. Requirements include an AZ or Compact RN license, BLS/NRP, and a dysrhythmia exam plus a Sim lab on day one.

Qualifications

• Active AZ or Compact RN license required.
• BLS and NRP certifications required.
• Minimum 2 years of recent acute care experience within the past 6 months.
• Must pass a dysrhythmia exam prior to starting (maximum 2 attempts).
• Must pass a Sim lab skills assessment on day 1 of orientation.
• Must provide 2 professional references: one supervisor from within the last 12 months, and one peer or supervisor from within the last 3 years, with dates and eligibility for rehire.
• Driver's license copy required for consideration.

Responsibilities

• Acute care Post Partum/Mother Baby unit with 28 beds at a Level 1 trauma facility.
• Patient ratio of 3 couplets to 1 nurse.
• Care for vaginal and C-section delivery patients with diagnoses including pre-eclampsia, diabetes, hypertension, and stable post hemorrhage.
• Uses Cerner EMR.
• Night shift schedule with 12-hour shifts (0700-1930 and 1900-0730).
• Requires 4 weekend shifts and holiday coverage as needed.
• OB Hospitalist in house 24/7, with RT and Pharmacy also available 24/7.
• House SWAT team available to assist with IV access as needed.
• Charge nurse present on unit; no nurse aides.
• First to float, with potential to float to sister facility.
• No telemetry or ventilator patients on this unit.
• Floor-specific orientation consists of up to 3 shifts as needed.
• Navy blue scrub color required.
• Candidates must complete a clinical profile review followed by a manager interview.
• Must reside at least 50 miles from the facility.

• Candidates may not have been directly employed by any CommonSpirit-affiliated facility, including CHI and Dignity, within the past year; PRN employment through outside staffing firms is acceptable
