Job summary
American Traveler is hiring a Mother-Baby/Post Partum RN with couplet care experience for a day shift assignment requiring NM or compact RN licensure.
Day shift with 4x12-hour shifts, 36 or 48 hour options, patient ratio 1:3-4, and Epic charting experience preferred. Travel RN assignment in Albuquerque area with comprehensive pay and benefits.
Qualifications
- Active NM or compact RN license required.
- BLS and NRP certifications required.
- 2 years of RN experience preferred.
- Experience with antepartum, high risk antepartum, postpartum, and Level II special care nursery preferred.
- Knowledge of medication administration including antihypertensives, antiseizure meds, heparin, magnesium sulfate, and Pitocin.
Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive care to postpartum mothers and newborns.
- Manage postpartum and newborn monitoring and education.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary team to ensure patient safety.

American Traveler is hiring a Mother-Baby/Post Partum RN with couplet care experience for a day shift assignment requiring NM or compact RN licensure.
- Mother-Baby/Couplet Care/Post Partum unit
- Day shift schedule with 4x12-hour shifts (7:00 AM-7:30 PM), 36 or 48 hour options available
- Patient ratio of 1:3-4
- Floating required to like units within scope as needed
- Epic charting system experience preferred
- Active NM or compact RN license required
- BLS and NRP certifications required
- 2 years of RN experience preferred
- Teaching hospital and community hospital experience preferred
- Skills in IV therapy, blood/blood product administration, and starting/maintaining IVs
- Experience with antepartum, high risk antepartum, postpartum, and Level II special care nursery preferred
- Knowledge of medication administration including antihypertensives, antiseizure meds, heparin, magnesium sulfate, and Pitocin
- Experience with newborn care including circumcision assistance, cord care, discharge teaching, newborn assessment, and phototherapy
- Postpartum care skills including bladder assessment/Foley catheter insertion, breastfeeding instruction, fundus/lochia/perineum care, and couplet care
- Experience caring for patients with cesarean section, multiple births, postpartum hemorrhage, and pregnancy-induced hypertension
- Pain management skills including opioid administration, epidural management, and PCA use preferred
- Provide comprehensive care to postpartum mothers and newborns including assessment, education, and hands‑on procedures
- Must reside within a 50‑mile radius of the facility, as local candidates are not accepted
- Former staff members must wait 1 year before returning as a traveler
- First‑time travelers are welcome to apply, though prior travel experience is preferred
- Up to 4 days of RTO can be auto‑approved at time of submission
