Job summary
American Traveler is seeking an experienced Travel RN for Labor & Delivery in Winfield, KS. Night shifts are 3×12 hours (7:00 PM–7:00 AM) with 36 hours per week. 13‑week assignment, open to local candidates at the same pay rate.
Requires KS or compact RN license, ACLS/BLS/NRP, and at least 2 years of L&D experience in a community hospital setting. Duties include antepartum to postpartum care and fetal monitoring.
Qualifications
- Active KS or compact RN license required at time of consideration.
- Minimum of 2 years of Labor and Delivery experience.
- Community hospital experience preferred.
- ACLS, BLS, and NRP certifications required.
Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive antepartum, labor and delivery, and postpartum care.
- Assist vaginal deliveries, C-sections, and obstetric procedures as needed.
- Monitor fetal status and manage active labor using standard protocols.
- Administer Pitocin, magnesium sulfate, and antihypertensives as ordered.

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Labor and Delivery position requiring a minimum of 2 years of experience and prior travel nursing experience.
- Critical access hospital setting within the Labor and Delivery unit
- Facility performs fewer than 100 births per month
- Night shift schedule of 3x12 hours (7:00 PM to 7:00 AM)
- Every third weekend required
- Floating to different units may be required
- Centricity EMR experience preferred
- Block scheduling considered on a case-by-case basis by the manager
- Active KS or compact RN license required at time of consideration
- Current certifications required: ACLS, BLS, and NRP
- Minimum of 2 years of Labor and Delivery experience required
- Community hospital experience preferred
- Skilled in assisting with sterile speculum exams, NST, reflex checks, and sterile vaginal exams
- Experienced in the use of External Fetal Monitoring (EFM)
- Proficient in IV therapy, phlebotomy, and medication administration
- Experienced in managing high-risk and vaginal deliveries, including forceps/vacuum extraction and C-Sections
- Skilled in neonatal and newborn care, including APGAR scoring and newborn assessments
- Experienced in postpartum care, including care for Cesarean Section and multiple births
- One professional reference required for consideration
- Provide comprehensive care across antepartum, labor and delivery, and postpartum stages
- Assist with vaginal deliveries, forceps/vacuum extractions, and recovery from C-Sections
- Manage administration of medications including Pitocin, Magnesium Sulfate, and Antihypertensives
- Deliver neonatal care in the delivery room, including thermoregulation and initial newborn assessments
- Provide newborn care including cord care, discharge teaching, and metabolic screening
- Support postpartum recovery including fundus, lochia, and perineum care, as well as breastfeeding support
- Assist with surgical cases such as Cervical Cerclage
- Perform fetal monitoring, including recognition of abnormal fetal heart rate patterns and IUPC placement
- Local candidates accepted at the same pay rate
- No radius restriction for candidacy
