Requirements include Oregon RN license, BLS/NRP (ACLS/NRP within 6 months if needed), and EFM certification after Labor and Delivery training. BSN preferred; clinical experience is desirable.

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Family Birth Center position requiring current Oregon RN licensure and NRP certification for night shift coverage.

Requirements

• Active RN license in the State of Oregon
• Current BLS and NRP certifications required
• ACLS and NRP required within 6 months of hire if not already held
• EFM certification required once trained in Labor and Delivery
• Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing
• BSN preferred
• No prior experience required, though clinical experience is desired
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds independently and assist with patient transfers over 100 pounds using proper technique or team assistance
• Ability to stand and walk continuously throughout the shift

Responsibilities

• Work in the Family Birth Center unit providing direct and indirect patient care to mother-baby patients
• Night shift schedule with 3 shifts per week, each 13 hours (7:00 PM to 7:30 AM)
• Possible scheduled days include Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday
• Responsible for initiating computerized Plan of Care upon patient admission
• May be asked to float to other departments where qualified before core staff are floated
• Communicate with physicians, nurse managers, and coworkers regarding changes in patient condition and diagnostic results
• Respond quickly and accurately to changes in patient condition or treatment response
• Provide compassionate, patient-centered care accounting for age-specific, cultural, and psychosocial needs
• Maintain patient confidentiality and uphold hospital mission and values
• Participate in required education programs as applicable to the position
• CRASE training required if assignment extends beyond 6 months
• Work in a fast-paced healthcare environment with exposure to infectious materials and emergency situations requiring PPE use
