Active GA RN license or compact, 2+ years ICU experience, and current BLS, ACLS, NIHSS are required. The unit handles ventilated, critically ill patients and may receive overflow cases.

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Medical ICU position requiring critical care expertise in managing ventilated, hemodynamically unstable patients on night shifts.

Requirements

• Active RN license (GA state or compact) required
• Minimum 2 years of experience required
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
• Critical care experience managing ventilated and hemodynamically unstable patients required

Responsibilities

• Work in the Medical ICU (MICU) of an acute care hospital
• Care for chronically ill patients requiring ventilation and complex medication management
• Common diagnoses include hypertensive urgency, sepsis, and CVA
• Requires skill in titrating pressors and managing IV drugs for critically ill patients
• Unit is the designated COVID positive unit
• May receive overflow Surgical or Cardiac ICU patients when no other bed is available
• Uses MEDITECH EMR
• Night shift schedule with 12-hour shifts
• 48 guaranteed hours per week
• 16 hours of orientation provided
• Provide critical care nursing to medically complex ICU patients, including pressor titration and ventilator management
• Must reside outside a 75-mile radius of the facility to be eligible for placement
• Not eligible if employed by the facility within the last 12 months
• Cancellation policy allows for 12 hours every 2 weeks
• Facility provides sanitizer-tracking badges that must be returned at the end of assignment
