Job summary

American Traveler, LLC. is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele float pool position in Connecticut. Prior travel nursing is required and at least 1 year of Med/Surg nursing experience is essential.

The role involves float responsibilities across Med/Surg units for adult and geriatric patients, with Omnicell and Cerner systems in use. Day shifts are 7:00 AM–7:30 PM, with every-other-weekend coverage and 36/48 hour option packages.

Qualifications

• Active RN license CT or Compact
• Current BLS certification required; NIHSS preferred
• Minimum 1 year Med/Surg nursing experience
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Charting system experience required (any system)
• IV therapy and phlebotomy skills
• Blood product administration experience
• Peripheral line care and management
• PICC line management experience
• Skilled in starting and maintaining IVs
• Nasal cannula and non-invasive airway management
• Isolation precautions and PPE protocols

Responsibilities

• Med/Surg Tele unit with float pool responsibilities across Med/Surg units
• Adult and geriatric patient population
• Uses Omnicell medication system and Cerner documentation system
• Utilizes SBAR communication system
• Day shift schedule, 3x12 hours from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM
• Every other weekend coverage required
• 36 or 48 hour shift options available
• Provide nursing care across Med/Surg units as part of a float pool team
• Candidates within 75 miles are considered local and accepted at a lower bill rate
• References required for consideration
