Job summary

American Traveler is seeking an experienced Med/Surg Tele RN for our Float Pool at a 226-bed WA hospital. You will cover a diverse adult medical-surgical population, including post-surgical, stroke, oncology, CHF, COPD, and COVID patients, with occasional pediatrics based on experience.

The role requires 12-hour night shifts (7a-7p or 7p-7a), 36 hours weekly, and floating to multiple units. First-time travelers are welcome to apply.

Qualifications

• Active WA or compact RN license required.
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required.
• Telemetry exam required during compliance process
• PALS certification preferred
• Minimum 2 years of Med/Surg Tele experience
• Experience with chest tubes, trachs, PICC/midlines/central lines, foleys, NG tubes, dressing changes, wound vacs, ostomies, and telemetry monitoring

Responsibilities

• Float Pool position within a 226-bed non-profit community hospital
• Patient population includes adults, post-surgical patients, stroke, oncology, CHF, COPD, respiratory, GI, ortho (total joints), and COVID patients
• Occasional pediatric patients if experienced with peds
• Rarely may include total care assignments requiring CNA-level duties
• Uses Epic EMR
• 12-hour night shifts, 7a-7p or 7p-7a
• 36 hours per week
• Floating required to 2EW, 2NW, 3EW, 3NW, 5th floor, and ER for Med/Surg holds
• Every other weekend rotation required
• No on-call requirements
• Provide general Med/Surg and telemetry nursing care across a variety of patient conditions
• May occasionally care for pediatric patients if experienced
• Scrubs must be any solid color with no graphics or designs
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply

Requirements

• Active WA or compact RN license required
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Must pass telemetry exam during compliance process
• PALS certification preferred
• Minimum 2 years of experience required
• Skills required include chest tubes, trachs, PICC/midlines/central lines, foleys, NG tubes, dressing changes, wound vacs, ostomies, and telemetry monitoring
• Experience collecting from central lines as needed
• Peds and psych experience preferred but not required
• No chemo experience required for oncology patients
