Job summary

American Traveler, LLC. is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele position in California. CA RN license and BSN are required along with current ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, and CPI or MAB certifications. Travel nursing experience and community hospital background are preferred.

The role involves providing direct adult/geriatric care on a Med/Surg Tele unit, day shift 7:00 AM–7:30 PM, rotating every other Saturday, with potential float to Emergency Services. Epic charting is used.

Qualifications

• Active CA RN license required
• BSN required
• Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, and CPI or MAB
• Minimum 3 years of current RN experience required (excluding new grad residency/orientation periods)
• Community hospital experience required
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Experience with IV therapy, central line care, PICC line management, and phlebotomy
• Experience with cardiac telemetry and interpretation/management of dysrhythmias
• Experience with cardiac and vasoactive drip management (no titration)
• Experience with CVA/stroke patient care
• Experience with feeding tube care and management
• Experience with heparin protocols and insulin drip titration
• Experience managing renal failure patients
• Epic charting system experience required

Responsibilities

• Med/Surg Tele unit setting
• Day shift schedule (3x12, 7:00 AM-7:30 PM)
• Rotating every other Saturday required; no Sunday shifts
• May be required to float to units in the Emergency Services Division
• Uses Epic charting system
• Provide direct patient care to adult and geriatric populations on a Med/Surg Tele unit
• Develop and evaluate individualized nursing care plans
• Coordinate care delivery and delegate tasks to support personnel
• Assist physicians with exams, procedures, and emergency measures
• May function as relief Charge Nurse as assigned
• Participate in continuous quality improvement activities and unit committees
• Maintain accurate documentation in accordance with regulatory standards
• Must reside within a 50-mile radius for local rate eligibility
• Former employees must have a 1-year separation before returning as a traveler
• Maximum RTO of 7 days per contract, with only 1 holiday request approved per contract
• Holiday coverage required for New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day
