American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele unit in Prescott, AZ. This role requires 2 years of RN experience, active AZ or compact RN license, BLS and ACLS, and telemetry interpretation proficiency.

Responsibilities include care on a busy Telemetry unit (49 beds), patient ratios, charting in Cerner, and flexible shifts with weekend coverage. Candidates should meet specific licensure and credentialing requirements and be able to pass a dysrhythmia exam prior to contract

Qualifications

• Must hold an active AZ or compact RN license.
• BLS and ACLS certifications are required.
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience.
• Experience reading basic telemetry strips is required.
• CVAs and TIAs experience preferred.
• Total joint replacement experience preferred.
• Must pass a dysrhythmia exam within two attempts before contract signing.

Responsabilités

• Acute care Telemetry unit (Medical/Surgical/Tele) with 49 beds.
• Patient ratio of 1:5 with nurse aide support at 1:10-15.
• Common diagnoses include CHF, COVID, respiratory and GI conditions, diabetes, post-cath, and total joint replacement patients.
• Cerner EMR used; experience recommended due to limited orientation time.
• Night shift, 7pm-7am, 12-hour shifts.
• Schedules built in 4-week blocks with self-scheduling, subject to manager balancing.
• Weekend requirement of 2 weekends per 4-week schedule.
• No call or standby requirements.
• Floating required, including to East Campus and possibly PCU if qualified.
• RNs required to interpret telemetry strips and sign off at least once per shift.
• Tele/monitor techs present on the unit.
• Respiratory equipment used includes BiPap, CPAP, and breathing treatments.
• RNs not required to titrate drips, though set-rate Diltiazem/Cardizem drips are administered.
• Charge nurse and house supervisor support available.
• Provide direct patient care on a busy telemetry unit including strip interpretation and documentation.
• One shift of unit-specific orientation provided.
• Navy blue scrub color required.
• Holiday coverage required for Christmas, New Year’s, and Thanksgiving, typically 2 days and an eve or 2 eves and a day.
• Candidates may not have been directly employed with any CommonSpirit-associated facility within the past year.

Requirements

• Active AZ or compact RN license required
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Experience reading basic telemetry strips required
• Some experience with CVA and TIA patients preferred
• Total joint replacement experience preferred
• Must pass a dysrhythmia exam within two attempts prior to contract signing
• Must reside at least 50 miles from the facility
• Copy of driver's license required for consideration
• Two professional references required: one supervisor from within the last 12 months worked and one peer or supervisor from within the last 3 years worked, including dates of employment and rehire eligibility

• Cancellation policy allows for 4 shifts per contract, or 3 shifts if the contract is under 13 weeks
