Job summary

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele night shift in Colorado. Requires CO or compact RN license and cardiac drip titration experience. BLS/ACLS certifications are required, with at least 2 years of RN experience and proficiency in post cath care.

Unit features include EPIC EMR, 12-hour night shifts, 1:4–1:5 nurse-patient ratio, weekend/holiday coverage, and potential for float pools and charge nurse duties. Housing and travel reimbursements are offered.

Qualifications

• Active CO or Compact (NLC) RN license required.
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications (AHA) required.
• Minimum of 2 years of RN experience required.
• Experience with cardiac drips and post cath lab care required.
• Experience titrating analgesics, anticoagulants, and antihypertensives required.
• Driver's license copy required for consideration.

Responsibilities

• Acute care Med/Surg/Telemetry unit (MS/Tele 4N) within a hospital setting.
• Patient population includes CHF, hypertension, chest pain work-ups, COPD, asthma, pneumonia, pancreatitis, bowel obstructions, GI bleeding, and acute renal failure.
• Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:4 day shift and 1:5 night shift.
• Night shift schedule, 12-hour shifts.
• Weekend requirement of a minimum of 6 shifts per 6-week schedule.
• Holiday coverage required.
• Call/standby requirements determined by the nurse manager.
• Self-scheduling and block scheduling available.
• Floats within the Med/Surg and Tele float pool, with priority to float first; may float within Zone 3 in cases of extreme need.
• Telemetry monitoring performed by dedicated tele techs 24/7, with RN co-signing strips.
• Nurse aide support available at an approximate ratio of 10-12 per unit.
• Uses EPIC EMR.
• Respiratory equipment on unit includes CPAP, HFNC, and NRB.
• Provide direct patient care on a Med/Surg/Telemetry unit, including titration of common drips and monitoring of cardiac patients.
• Charge nurse role is available and does take a patient assignment.
• Unit/department-specific orientation details and location provided during orientation week.
• Clinicians must be in-state for orientation week, even if initial modules are completed remotely.
• Scrub color requirement is caribbean blue for RNs at this facility.
• Must reside at least 60 miles from the facility to meet radius requirements for this role.
• Candidates may not have been directly employed by any CommonSpirit-affiliated facility within the past year.
