American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Medical Telemetry/PCU position in Arizona. Requires 1+ year MedSurg experience and the ability to read telemetry strips. Open to candidates who reside within 50 miles of the facility and hold an AZ or Compact RN license, with BLS/ACLS certifications.

Night shift, 12-hour shifts (7:00 PM–7:30 AM) with every other weekend and holiday rotation. Travel housing and licensure reimbursements are provided by the agency.

Qualifications

• Active AZ or Compact RN license required.
• BLS and ACLS certifications required.
• Minimum 1 year of MedSurg experience; telemetry experience preferred.
• Must read and interpret telemetry strips.
• Willing to precept nursing students.
• Driver's license copy required for consideration.
• Two professional references: one supervisor (last 12 months) and one peer (last 3 years).

Responsabilités

• Acute care setting on a 30-bed Medical Surgical Telemetry/PCU unit.
• Patient ratios of 1:5-6.
• Care for surgical and medical patients (hips/knees, COPD, pneumonia, COVID, MRSA).
• Telemetry patients with chest pain.
• Remote Monitor Techs support the unit; RN reads own telemetry strips.
• Care for stable CPAP or BiPAP patients.
• RNs not required to titrate drips.
• Nursing assistants carry 10-15 patients; RN may take 3.
• Scrubs may be any color except camouflage.
• First to float to other units as needed.
• Cerner EMR used.

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Medical Telemetry/PCU position requiring 1+ year of MedSurg experience and the ability to read telemetry strips.

Requirements

• Active AZ or Compact RN license required
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Minimum 1 year of MedSurg experience required; telemetry experience preferred
• Must be able to read and interpret telemetry strips
• Must pass a dysrhythmia exam within two attempts prior to contract signing
• Must be willing to precept nursing students
• Driver's license copy required for consideration
• Two professional references required: one supervisor from within the last 12 months worked and one peer or supervisor from within the last 3 years worked, including employment dates and rehire eligibility

Responsibilities

• Acute care setting on a 30-bed Medical Surgical Telemetry/PCU unit organized into three 10-bed pods
• Patient ratios of 1:5-6
• Cares for both surgical patients (total hip/knee replacement, small bowel resection, hysterectomy, exploratory lap) and medical patients (MRSA, C-diff, substance withdrawal, COPD, pneumonia, COVID)
• Telemetry patients presenting with chest pain
• Remote Monitor Techs support the unit, but RNs must read their own telemetry strips
• Cares for stable CPAP or BiPAP patients
• RNs are not required to titrate drips
• Nursing assistants typically carry 10-15 patients; RNs provide primary care and take 3 patients if no NA is available
• Cerner EMR used
• Night shift, 12-hour shifts (1900-0730)
• Every other weekend required (Friday/Saturday for nights)
• Holiday rotation required to distribute holidays fairly
• May participate in low census standby rotation depending on contract
• First to float, including into the Multi Care Unit, Pediatric unit, and West Campus MedSurg Tele
• Provide direct patient care on a combined Medical Surgical Telemetry/PCU unit
• Charge RN oversees 50 inpatient beds spanning MST, Pediatrics, and the Acuity Adaptable MCU (which admits ICU/PCU/MST patients)
• Unit orientation provided based on experience level, in addition to hospital orientation
• Scrubs may be any color except camouflage
• Candidates must reside at least 50 miles from the facility
• Candidates may not have been directly employed (full time, part time, or PRN) with any CommonSpirit-affiliated facility, including CHI and/or Dignity, within the past year
