American Traveler is seeking a Med/Surg Tele RN for a night shift assignment in Indiana. The role requires telemetry experience and comfort with pediatric admissions on a short-term unit.

The unit is a 78-bed Med/Surg Tele unit with a 1:5 patient ratio. Shift is 18:00–06:30, with at least three weekend shifts every six weeks and potential on-call or float as needed.

Qualifications

• Active RN license (IN state or Compact) required.
• BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NIHSS certifications required.
• PALS certification required prior to start per facility policy.
• Minimum 1 year RN experience required.
• Telemetry experience required.
• Ambulatory and Med/Surg experience preferred.
• Community hospital experience preferred.
• Must be comfortable caring for pediatric patients.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on Med/Surg Tele unit with cardiac monitoring and wound care.
• Patient ratio 1:5 on a 78-bed unit in a short-term acute care hospital.
• Night shift: 3x12 hour shifts (18:00-06:30).
• Minimum of 3 weekends required within a 6-week period.
• Possible on-call and unit/ census-based floating.
• Utilize Meditech charting system and admit pediatric patients.
• Scrubs of any color allowed if professional in appearance.
• Travelers within 50 miles receive rate differential.
• First-time travelers will be considered.

Responsibilities

• Med/Surg Tele unit within a short-term acute care hospital with 78 staffed beds
• Patient ratio of 1:5
• Night shift schedule, 3x12 hours (18:00-06:30)
• Minimum of 3 weekends required within a 6-week period
• Possibility of being placed on-call based on unit needs
• Possibility of floating depending on unit and hospital census
• Uses Meditech charting system
• Unit admits pediatric patients
• Provide direct patient care on a Med/Surg Tele unit, including cardiac monitoring, wound care, and management of dysrhythmias
• Scrubs of any color accepted as long as professional in appearance
• Maximum of 5 days RTO permitted
• Candidates requesting holiday RTO must be willing to work one of the three major holidays
• First-time travelers will be considered
• Travelers within 50 miles of the facility are considered local and receive a rate differential
• Former employees must be separated from the facility for three years before returning as a traveler
• Call-off shifts must be made up with an additional shift
