Job summary

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg Tele RN for a Float Pool position requiring MA licensure and self-interpretation of telemetry strips with no dedicated tele techs.

Responsibilities include floating within a hospital, caring for Telemetry patients, 12-hour night shifts (36 hours/week), every other weekend, and must reside within 50 miles. Epic EMR experience is required.

Qualifications

• Active MA RN license required in hand.
• BLS and ACLS certifications required.
• CCRN preferred.
• 2–3 years Med/Surg Tele experience required.
• Experience with ventilator management and hemodynamic monitoring preferred.

Responsibilities

• Float Pool RN unit within a hospital setting.
• Telemetry patient population (Med/Surg Telemetry).
• Work a 12-hour night shift (36 hours/week).
• Work every other weekend and floating across units.
• Read and interpret telemetry strips independently (no tele techs).
• Utilize Epic EMR for documentation and orders.

Job description

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg Tele RN for a Float Pool position requiring MA licensure and self-interpretation of telemetry strips with no dedicated tele techs.

Requirements

• Active MA RN license required in hand
• BLS (AHA) and ACLS (AHA) certifications required
• CCRN preferred
• 2-3 years of related Med/Surg Tele work experience required
• Experience with ventilator management, vasoactive and sedation titration, hemodynamic monitoring, and cardiac dysrhythmia recognition and management preferred
• Post-STEMI care experience preferred
• Must pass a pass/fail ECG/Telemetry test and Medications test during onboarding with only one attempt allowed
• Testing must be completed within 48 hours of confirmation with an 85% passing score required and no opportunity for remediation

• Candidates should prepare using the study guide provided by the facility prior to testing
• Must reside within a 50-mile radius of the facility; local candidates are not accepted
• Previous BILH employees (travel, perm, or per diem) must complete a 6-month break before returning to any BILH facility
• No more than three days of RTO will be accepted
• Required vaccinations include COVID vaccine plus booster and flu vaccine, with medical exemptions allowed
• Travelers do not need a separation period from BILH to be considered for this position
