Job summary

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Telemetry travel contract in Illinois. This role requires prior travel nursing experience, a valid IL RN license, and EKG proficiency with Relias testing.

The position features 12-hour day shifts, alternating weekends, and floating to related units. Epic EMR is used for patient care documentation, with holiday coverage and interview requirements specified.

Qualifications

• Active IL RN license required.
• Current BLS certification (American Heart Association or American Red Cross).
• NIHSS certification required.
• Minimum 2 years of Med/Surg/Tele/Neuro experience.
• Prior travel nursing experience with at least 1 completed assignment.
• Epic EMR experience required.
• Passing score of 80% on Relias EKG test prior to start.
• Must pass an on-site EKG test on Day 1 of orientation.
• 2 professional references; 1 from most recent travel assignment.
• Date of birth required.

Responsibilities

• Inpatient ICU setting caring for Med/Surg/Telemetry admissions.
• 12-hour day shifts.
• Every other weekend required.
• Floating required, with priority to other Med/Surg/Tele units.
• No on-call responsibilities.
• Uses Epic EMR.
• Provide direct patient care to Med/Surg/Telemetry inpatients in an ICU environment.
• Holiday coverage required for 1–2 holidays during the contract.
• RTO limited by contract length (3 days for 8-week, 7 days for 13-week).
• First-time travelers are not accepted for this position.
• Returning staff must be separated from facility for at least 12 months to be considered as traveler.
• Local candidates accepted at same pay rate.
• Candidates must reside within 50-mile radius.
• Interview with the hospital will be required (10–15 minutes).
