Job summary

American Traveler is seeking an RN for a Med/Surg Tele assignment requiring a PA or compact RN license and prior telemetry nursing experience. This travel opportunity places you in a hospital setting on day shifts 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM, with patient ratios of 1:4 to 1:8 and floating within scope.

Responsibilities include providing telemetry-based nursing care, cardiac monitoring and dysrhythmia management to Med/Surg patients, supporting neurology, orthopedics and cardiovascular units, plus

Qualifications

• Active RN license (PA or compact) required.
• BLS certification required; ACLS, NIHSS, and TCAR preferred.
• Minimum 3 years of RN experience required.
• Prior Med/Surg Telemetry experience required with 1:4-8 patient ratio experience.
• Epic charting system experience required.
• Skills in cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia management, and IV therapy preferred.
• Experience with respiratory care including tracheostomy management preferred.
• Experience managing cardiac and vasoactive drips preferred.

Responsibilities

• Med/Surg Telemetry unit within a hospital setting.
• Team nursing model with patient ratios ranging from 1:4 to 1:8.
• Day shift schedule, 3x12 hours from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM.
• Every other weekend required.
• Floating required within scope to meet facility needs.
• No on-call requirements.
• No block scheduling available.
• Provide telemetry-based nursing care to Med/Surg patients including cardiac monitoring and dysrhythmia management.
• Support for neurological, orthopedic, and cardiovascular patient populations as needed.
• Approximately 4 hours of required pre-start modules to complete.
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply.
• Preferred RTO of 5 days or less.
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be considered.
• Former Guthrie Healthcare System employees must be separated for at least one year before returning as a traveler.
