Job summary

American Traveler is seeking a Med/Surg Tele RN for a 13-week assignment in Wisconsin. Requires active WI or compact RN license, 2+ years MS/Tele experience, and Epic EMR proficiency.

Candidates must pass a telemetry exam with strict criteria and have skills in dysrhythmia interpretation, IV therapy, and PPE use. Travel and lodging allowances are provided, with 50+ miles from facility required.

Qualifications

• Active WI RN or compact RN license required.
• Current BLS certification required.
• Minimum 2 years of recent MS/Tele acute care experience required.
• Epic EMR experience required, within past 12 months preferred.
• Must pass a telemetry exam with strict criteria prior to starting.
• Skills in IV therapy, phlebotomy, telemetry monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation, and rapid response/code teams.
• Experience with cardiac medications such as Heparin, Insulin, and PCA.
• Knowledge of isolation precautions and PPE use.

Responsibilities

• MS/Tele unit in a hospital setting.
• Day/Evening schedule, 12-hour shifts 0700-1930.
• Weekend rotation up to 3 weekends per 6-week period.
• Holiday rotation based on operational need.
• Floating required as needed.
• Uses Epic EMR.
• Provide direct care to Med/Surg and Telemetry patients, monitoring for dysrhythmias and responding to emergencies.
• Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility; local candidates not accepted.
• First-time travelers considered with 3 years of recent inpatient med/surg/tele experience.
• Up to two attempts to pass telemetry exam; a third requires a review course.
• Teaching and community hospital experience preferred.
• Free onsite parking available.

• Must pass a telemetry exam with strict passing criteria prior to starting, including 100% identification of lethal rhythms and 80% or higher overall score
• Skills in IV therapy, phlebotomy, telemetry monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation, and use of rapid response/code teams
• Experience with cardiac medications such as Heparin, Insulin, and PCA
• Knowledge of isolation precautions and PPE use
