Job summary

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele position requiring strong telemetry skills and prior travel assignment experience.

Day shift, 4x12-hour blocks from 6:30 to 19:00 in a hospital setting. Cerner EMR experience preferred. Active MD or compact RN license, BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, at least 2 years of recent RN experience, one prior travel assignment, and two supervisory references are required, along with Relias EKG rhythm exam results.

• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
• Minimum 2 years of recent RN experience within the last 7 years
• Strong MS/Tele/Telemetry clinical experience
• At least 1 previous travel assignment
• Two supervisory references required
• Relias EKG Rhythm Interpretation Exam with 80% overall and 100% on lethal rhythms

Responsibilities

• Medical-Surgical Telemetry unit in a hospital setting
• Day shift schedule, 4x12-hour shifts from 6:30 to 19:00
• ED boarder patients included in unit population
• Cerner EMR experience preferred
• Provide nursing care to Med/Surg and telemetry patients, including ED boarders
• Participate in cardiac monitoring, emergency response, and rapid response/code team activities
• Must reside within 60 miles of the facility to qualify for local candidate status
• RTO must be submitted at time of application and cannot exceed 7 days per 13-week contract
• No RTO permitted during the first two weeks of the assignment
• Facility-specific training modules must be completed within one week of contract signing
• Labs and drug screening appointments must be completed within 48 hours of signing
• Previous MedStar employees must have been separated for at least one year before returning as a traveler
• Orientation available starting Oct 27 or Nov 10
