American Traveler is seeking a Med/Surg Tele RN for a community hospital night shift. Requires 2 years of RN experience and NC or compact RN license (pending accepted at submission).

Unit has 12 beds with 1:5 to 1:6 ratios; schedule is 3x12 hours, 18:45–07:15, 36 hours/week. 13-week contract minimum, on-call rarely required, navy blue scrubs required. Travel or local options available.

Formación

• Active NC or compact RN license (pending license accepted at submission)
• BLS certification required; ACLS and NIHSS preferred
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Telemetry monitoring and dysrhythmia interpretation experience required
• Blood product administration, peripheral line care, and IV starts required
• CVA care, oxygen administration, and isolation precautions/PPE required
• Two professional references from a supervisor in the past 2 years required

Responsabilidades

• Med/Surg Tele unit with 12 beds and ADI of 8; community hospital setting
• Patient population includes COPD, CHF, diabetes, infectious disease, rehab, and telemetry cases
• Target patient ratios of 1:5 to 1:6
• Night shift schedule, 3x12 hours, 18:45-07:15
• 36 hours per week available
• 13-week contract minimum, longer contracts may be considered
• Every third weekend required; on-call only in rare events of low census
• Floating required as needed
• Provide direct patient care on Med/Surg Tele unit including cardiac monitoring and respiratory support
• Unit orientation 24-36 hours plus hospital orientation in first week
• Navy blue scrubs required
• First-time travelers considered; restrictions on prior employees and travel per diem status
• Up to 7 days of RTO can be auto-approved if not on a holiday; no RTO first week
• Must work 2 of 3 major holidays
• Local candidates within 50 miles accepted at a lower rate

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg Tele RN for a community hospital night-shift position requiring 2 years of experience and NC or compact RN licensure.

Requirements

• Active NC or compact RN license (pending license accepted at submission)


• BLS certification required; ACLS and NIHSS preferred


• Minimum 2 years of relevant RN experience required


• Experience with telemetry monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, blood product administration, peripheral line care, and IV starts required


• Experience with CVA care, oxygen administration (nasal cannula and tanks), and isolation precautions/PPE required


• Preferred skills include IV insulin protocols, heparin and insulin administration, cardiac drip management (no titration), BiPAP/CPAP management, HFNC, non-invasive airway management, oral suctioning, and wound care/wound vac


• Community hospital experience preferred


• Two professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years required (pending references accepted at submission)

• Med/Surg Tele unit in a community hospital setting with 12 beds and an average daily census of 8


• Patient population includes COPD, CHF, diabetes, infectious disease, rehab, and general med/surg and telemetry cases


• Target patient ratios of 1:5 to 1:6


• Night shift schedule, 3x12 hours, 18:45-07:15


• 36 hours per week available


• 13-week contract minimum, longer contracts may be considered


• Every third weekend required (8 shifts for a 13-week contract)


• On-call required only in the rare event of low census


• Floating required as needed


• Uses manual dispense medication carts, paper documentation, and SBAR communication


• Provide direct patient care on a Med/Surg Tele unit including cardiac monitoring and respiratory support


• Unit orientation of 24-36 hours plus hospital orientation during the first week, requiring daily class attendance


• Navy blue scrubs required


• First-time travelers will be considered for this position


• Former Novant Health or New Hanover PERM/PRN/EP employees must wait 12 months before applying and must disclose prior employment details for facility approval


• Current travel per diem clinicians must choose between per diem or travel status and cannot hold both


• Up to 7 days of RTO can be auto-approved if it does not fall on a holiday; additional RTO requires facility approval


• No RTO allowed during the first week of the assignment


• Must work 2 of 3 major holidays


• Travel pairs allowed if on different units with separate transportation and schedules


• Local candidates within 50 miles accepted at a lower pay rate
