Job summary

American Traveler, LLC. is seeking an RN for a Med/Surg Tele - Orthopedic Spine assignment in Columbia, SC. The role requires 1+ year of unit experience and Epic proficiency at a Level I trauma center.

The ideal candidate holds an active SC license, BLS/ACLS/NIHSS, and Epic EMR experience. Night shifts are 4x12s with every other weekend; travel and relocation benefits are offered.

Qualifications

• Active SC or compact multistate RN license required.
• BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required.
• Dysrhythmia certification preferred.
• 1+ years Med/Surg Tele or Orthopedic experience required.
• 1 year of Epic EMR experience required.
• Previous charge experience preferred.
• Teaching hospital and community hospital experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Adult 26-bed orthopedic spine unit specializing in spinal surgeries with integrated pain management, physical therapy, and mobility support.
• Patient diagnoses include Med/Surg, Tele, cardiac, low-risk ACS, TIAs, diabetes, hypertension, COPD, dehydration, chest pain, DVT, and PE.
• Special procedures include bedside lumbar puncture, post-Cath care, post-surgical care, post renal biopsy, CT Angio, and Heparin drips.
• Patient ratio of 1:5-6.
• Night shift schedule, 4x12 hours (19:00-7:30).
• Every other weekend requirement, approximately 6 weekend shifts over the assignment.
• Floating to other qualified units or campuses required based on census needs.
• Provide post-operative and telemetry care for orthopedic spine surgical patients including pain management and mobility support.
• Located at a Level I trauma center in the Midlands region.
• Weekly orientation every Monday with annual compliance training.
• Pre-assignment testing and modules must be completed within 48 hours of login credentials.
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply.
