Job summary

American Traveler is seeking a registered nurse for a Skilled Nursing/TCU position in California. Requires an active CA RN license, BLS, and at least 1 year of RN experience, plus prior travel nursing experience.

The role operates in a transitional care unit with roughly 87 beds and includes weekend shifts and holiday coverage. Epic charting is used, potential facility floating, and on-site parking is provided.

Qualifications

• Active CA RN license required.
• BLS certification required.
• Minimum 1 year of RN experience required.
• Prior travel nursing experience required.
• Experience with respiratory care, oxygen administration, IV therapy/medication, peripheral line care, and isolation precautions/PPE.
• Two supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years required for consideration.

Responsibilities

• Work in a Transitional Care Unit (TCU), a distinct 87-bed sub-acute rehabilitation unit within a skilled nursing facility.
• Unit covers all system diagnoses with certain admit criteria, excluding custodial or long-term care patients.
• Patient-to-nurse ratio of approximately 8:1 to 1:10.
• Every other weekend work required.
• Uses Epic charting system.
• Potential floating required between sister facilities.
• Provide skilled nursing and rehabilitative care to sub-acute patients.
• Scrubs of any color permitted.
• Free parking available on-site.
• Must commit to working 3 of the 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year’s Eve, New Year’s Day).
• All requested time off must be submitted at time of consideration.
• Local candidates accepted, with a 50-mile radius rule applying to candidates seeking local rates.
• Former permanent staff may return after a 3-month waiting period, provided they reside more than 50 miles from the facility.
• First-time travelers are not accepted for this position.
