Job summary

American Traveler, LLC. is seeking a registered nurse for a Long Term Care Unit assignment in Massachusetts. Active MA license and 2+ years of MedSurg/LTAC/ICU experience are required, with LTAC experience especially valued.

The role involves day shifts, 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, and every-other weekend, in a Transitional Care Unit with MATRIX EMR and ongoing travel readiness.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Work in the Transitional Care Unit (TCU) of a long-term care hospital.
• 5x8 day shift: 7:00 AM–3:00 PM; every other weekend.
• Perform head-to-toe assessments and administer meds (oral, G-tube, NG, IV).
• Document care in EMR; manage central lines and ports dressing changes.
• Provide wound, ostomy, and catheter care; adapt to traveler expectations.

Job description

American Traveler is hiring an RN for a Long Term Care Unit (TCU) position requiring an active MA license and 2+ years of MedSurg, LTAC, or ICU experience.

Requirements

• Active MA RN license required in hand prior to acceptance
• Current BLS certification required
• Minimum 2 years of experience in MedSurg, LTAC, or ICU settings
• LTAC experience required
• IV certification preferred
• Skilled in peripheral IV placement, phlebotomy, and central line care including PICC lines and ports
• Experience with wound care, drain care, and wound vac maintenance
• Experience with Foley catheter insertion and care, and straight catheterization
• Experience with tracheostomy care, suctioning, and ventilator management (excluding settings adjustment)
• Experience with ostomy care and G/J tube management including tube feedings
• Experience with telemetry and basic rhythm analysis
• Experience administering blood transfusions and TPN

Responsibilities

• Work in the Transitional Care Unit (TCU) of a long-term care hospital setting
• Day shift schedule, 5x8 hours, 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM
• Every other weekend (EOW) required
• Patient ratio up to 1:10, typically lower
• Uses MATRIX EMR system with training provided
• Perform full head-to-toe patient assessments at start of care
• Administer oral, G-tube, nasogastric, and IV medications
• Document patient care using electronic medical records
• Provide care for patients with central lines, PICC lines, and ports including dressing changes and blood draws
• Perform basic wound care, dressing changes, and ostomy bag application
• Candidates must be prepared to quickly adapt to facility expectations for travelers
• Travel experience preferred
