Responsibilities

• Care for orthopedics unit patients with 1:6 ratio.
• Care for ortho trauma and total joint replacement cases.
• Perform IV therapy and central line/PICC management.
• Use Omnicell medication system and EPIC EMR.
• Night shift schedule: 3x12 or 4x12 (1845-0715).
• Floating to similar units/campuses as needed based on census and skill set.
• Provide direct patient care on Orthopedics units including ortho trauma and joint replacements.

• Minimum 1 year of recent experience in Orthopedics required
• Minimum 1 year of EPIC EMR experience required
• Travel nursing experience required
• MS/Tele competency and EKG exam completion required due to floating needs
• Teaching hospital and community hospital experience preferred
• Previous charge experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Hospital-based Orthopedics unit with 1:6 patient ratio
• Patient population includes ortho trauma and total joint replacement cases
• Common procedures include peripheral nerve block catheters and bariatric surgery care
• Uses Omnicell medication system and EPIC EMR
• Night shift schedule, 3x12 or 4x12 hours (1845-0715)
• Weekend coverage required every other weekend, subject to change based on need
• Floating required to similar units based on skill set, including MS/Tele competency
• Provide direct patient care on an Orthopedics unit, including ortho trauma and total joint replacement patients
• Skilled in IV therapy, central line and PICC line management, and GI-related care such as ostomy and feeding tube management preferred
• Orientation held every Monday with annual compliance training required
• Pre-assignment testing and modules must be completed within 48 hours of receiving login credentials
• Floating to other units or campuses may be required based on census needs, limited to competencies already demonstrated
• First-time travelers will not be considered for this role
• Candidates must reside more than 100 miles from any Prisma Health facility to be eligible at full travel rate
• Candidates residing 90-99.9 miles away may be considered at a reduced rate
• Night shift travelers in select specialties may qualify under a 50+ mile exception from the contracted campus
