Job summary

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an Orthopedic unit in Salem, Oregon. The role requires MS/Tele experience and BLS; Oregon RN license or active pending license accepted at submission.

Responsibilities cover post-op musculoskeletal care in a Magnet-designated Level II Trauma teaching hospital. Night shift 19:00-07:30, 4x12 hours, with every other weekend and a 1:4-6 patient ratio; unit education provided on hire.

Qualifications

• Active or pending Oregon RN license accepted at submission
• BLS certification through AHA required
• 1 year MS/Tele experience within last 3 years required
• Epic charting experience required
• Skilled in interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
• O2 protocol and non-invasive airway management
• Peripheral line care/management
• Isolation precautions/PPE
• Rapid response activation
• Computerized documentation experience required

• 46-bed Orthopedic and Joint Replacement Center of Excellence unit within a Magnet-designated, Level II Trauma teaching hospital
• Care for surgical and non-surgical musculoskeletal patients including fractures, degenerative disease, congenital disorders, infection, and joint replacements
• Night shift schedule, 4x12 hours, 19:00-07:30
• RN patient ratio of 1:4-6
• Every other weekend required
• Floating required within scope, with priority to West Valley Hospital
• Uses Epic charting system
• Block scheduling not accommodated
• Orthopedic experience not required; unit-specific education provided upon hire
• First time travelers accepted
• Local candidates accepted
• RTO requests exceeding 2 weeks require approval and must be finalized at time of submission
• Royal blue scrubs required
• Former Salem Health employees must wait six months from termination date before being eligible for travel assignments
• Pending Oregon RN license accepted, but Oregon CNA license must be active and in hand if applicable
• Expired Oregon RN or CNA licenses will not be accepted
