Job summary

American Traveler is hiring an RN for an Ortho/Med-Surg night shift position in Tennessee. The role requires a TN or compact RN license and at least 1 year of RN experience, with ASN and current ACLS, BLS, PALS, NIHSS certifications.

The unit is 23 beds with 4–6:1 ratios, serving geriatric and adult patients (13+). Night shift runs 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM, with every third weekend and floating as needed.

• Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
• Minimum 1 year of RN experience required.
• Strong assessment skills and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care to post-surgical orthopedic, bariatric, GI, and trauma patients.
• Night shift 7:00 PM–7:30 AM on a 23-bed unit with 4–6:1 patient ratios.
• Handle ortho, post-operative, and Med-Surg care in a Level III Trauma Center.
• Adhere to Meditech EHR documentation and participate in weekend rotations.
• Travel/assignment-specific requirements include 60 miles distance from facility and no permanent staff at LifePoint in last 12 months.

Responsibilities

• Medical Surgical Combination unit specializing in Ortho, Post Operative, and Med/Surg care
• 23-bed unit with patient ratios of 4-6:1
• Patient population includes geriatric, adult, and pediatric patients (ages 13 and older)
• Common diagnoses include post-operative joints, post-op bariatric, post-operative GI, and trauma patients
• Night shift schedule from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
• Weekend requirement of every third weekend
• Floating required as needed
• No on-call requirements
• Uses Meditech EHR system
• Level III Trauma Center
• Provide direct patient care to post-surgical orthopedic, bariatric, GI, and trauma patients
• Facility has been serving the Gallatin, Hendersonville, and surrounding areas for over 60 years
• Fully accredited by The Joint Commission
• Scrubs of any color permitted, but t-shirts must display hospital logo and acrylic nails are not allowed
• Candidates must reside 60 miles or greater from the facility to be considered for travel assignment
• Candidates cannot have worked as permanent staff at any LifePoint facility within the last 12 months
• Candidates cannot be employed elsewhere full time
• Weekly orientation held on Mondays
