American Traveler is hiring an Oncology Clinic RN for a travel nurse role in Connecticut. The position requires active CT or Compact RN license, BLS, and ONS certification, with chemo certification preferred.

At least 2 years of RN experience in oncology ambulatory settings is expected, including phone triage and travel nursing experience. The role features a 4x10 hour day shift (7:30 AM–5:00 PM) with no weekend requirements, uses Epic, and involves pre-/post-treatment visits, triage, and

Responsibilities

• Practice nurse role in an outpatient oncology clinic setting - no infusion administered at this clinic.
• Patients seen include oncology patients before, during, and after treatment, as well as pre-op, post-op, and follow-up visits.
• Duties include telephone triage, inbasket management, and assisting providers during clinic visits.
• Day shift schedule, 4x10-hour shifts from 7:30 AM to 5:00 PM.
• May float between specialties within scope of practice.
• No weekend requirement.
• Uses Epic charting system.
• Assist providers with oncology patient care across the full treatment continuum including pre- and post-treatment visits.
• Facility is a Level I Trauma Center and academic medical center.
• Royal blue scrub color required.
• Flu vaccine required with no declinations accepted.
• COVID vaccine and booster required with medical or religious exemptions only.
• RTO requests greater than 7 days require additional approval.
• Local candidates within 75 miles of the facility are not accepted.
• Previous staff must have been separated from the facility for at least 2 years to return as a traveler.
• First-time travelers are not accepted for this role.
