Job summary

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Oncology/Cellular Therapy night shift position in Indiana, with 2+ years of oncology experience and Chemo certification. The role features 4x12 hour nights (7:00 PM–7:30 AM), a patient load of 1:3-4, and travel nurse requirements.

Qualifications

• Active RN license (IN or Compact) required.
• Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, Chemo (ONS/ONCC), NIHSS.
• Minimum 2 years of RN oncology experience required.
• Prior oncology, stem cell, and critical care experience required.
• Previous travel nursing experience required.
• Charge nurse experience preferred.
• Teaching hospital, community hospital, LTAC, and Trauma Level I/II experience preferred.
• Skilled in IV therapy, chemotherapy administration, central line/port care, and management of oncologic emergencies.
• Experience with bone marrow transplant, CAR-T, and stem cell therapies preferred.

Responsibilities

• Inpatient Oncology unit specializing in Cellular Therapy including autologous transplant, allogeneic transplant, CAR-T, and TILS treatments.
• Also provides IV chemotherapy prior to cellular therapy treatments.
• Night shift, 4x12 hours (19:00-07:30).
• Patient ratio of 1:3-4.
• Every 3rd weekend required.
• Holiday cluster coverage required (2 major and minor holidays).
• No on-call requirements.
• May float to oncology or med/surg units within scope of experience.
• Epic EMR experience required.
• Provide direct patient care for oncology patients undergoing chemotherapy and cellular therapy treatments including CAR-T and stem cell transplants.
• Manage side effects and oncologic emergencies such as tumor lysis syndrome, anaphylaxis, and sepsis.
• Coordinate care with a multidisciplinary team in a specialized oncology/BMT unit.
• First-time travelers will not be considered for this position.
• Candidates must reside at least 50 miles from all facility locations; local candidates are not accepted.
• Maximum RTO of 10 days at time of submission.
• Returning travelers are welcome back without a waiting period between contracts.
