American Traveler, LLC. is seeking an Infusion RN for oncology in West Virginia. Requires 2+ years of RN experience, active WV or compact RN license, and BLS. Cerner charting experience is required, with chemotherapy administration and IV therapy expertise.

The role involves infusion center care for both inpatient and outpatient oncology, a 70-patient daily caseload, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM shifts, and no on-call duties. Travel-friendly position with housing and licensure support.

Qualifications

• Infusion center and oncology experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Infusion center care for inpatient and outpatient oncology patients.
• Manage daily caseload ~70 patients with 1:4 nurse-to-patient ratio.
• Day shift: 8:00 AM–4:30 PM, 5x8 hour shifts.
• Use Cerner charting system for documentation.
• No on-call or floating required within the facility.
• Provide direct patient care including external beam therapy and related treatments.
• Deliver patient education and psychosocial support.
• Royal blue scrubs color required; orientation every other Thursday.

Job description

American Traveler is hiring an Infusion RN for an Oncology position requiring 2+ years of RN experience, chemotherapy administration skills, and a WV or compact RN license.

Requirements

• Active WV or compact RN license required, pending license accepted for consideration
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• BLS certification required through AHA
• ONS/ONCC Chemotherapy certification preferred
• Cerner charting experience required
• Skilled in IV therapy and infusions, including accessing and managing ports, central line care, and PICC line care
• Experienced in chemotherapy administration, including IV push, continuous infusion, and oral administration
• Skilled in body fluid handling and management/disposal of cytotoxic spills post-chemotherapy
• Ability to recognize and communicate abnormal lab values
• Experience with biotherapy administration (Interferons and Interleukins) preferred
• Infusion center and inpatient/outpatient oncology experience preferred
• Minimum of 2 manager or charge nurse references from within the past 2 years required
• Must provide proof of flu vaccination or documented medical exemption from an allergist or physician

Responsibilities

• Work in an infusion center providing inpatient and outpatient oncology care
• Daily caseload of approximately 70 patients with a 1:4 patient ratio
• Day shift schedule, 5x8 hour shifts from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM
• Uses Cerner charting system
• No on-call responsibilities required
• No floating required within facility or to sister facilities
• Provide direct patient care including external beam therapy, IMRT, and prophylactic treatments alongside infusion duties
• Utilize CBCT/kV/mV imaging and radiation safety protocols
• Deliver patient and family education and psychosocial support
• Royal blue scrub color required
• Orientation held every other Thursday
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Candidates must live more than 100 miles from the facility, with 75-99 miles considered case-by-case at the same rate
• Former permanent employees must wait 3 years from last permanent employment date before returning as a traveler
• Current employees of the Vandalia Health System (including CAMC, Mon Health, and affiliated hospitals) are not eligible for this travel contract
• No prior license suspensions allowed; probationary actions considered case-by-case
