Job summary

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an Infusion/Chemo department in California. The role requires travel nursing experience, active CA RN license, and ONS/ONCC chemotherapy certification. BLS/ACLS are required with ACLS preferred.

The position is with a community hospital, offering a day shift and strong benefits, including housing assistance and travel reimbursements. Previous charge nurse and central line care experience are desirable.

Qualifications

• > Active CA RN license, BLS/ACLS, and ONS/ONCC chemotherapy certification required.
• < Minimum 2 years of RN experience; prior travel nursing experience required.
• < Community hospital experience preferred; Charge nurse experience preferred.
• < Skilled in port access, central line care, and infusion pump management.
• < Knowledge of biotherapy administration including interferons and interleukins.

Responsibilities

• Work in the Infusion/Chemo department of a community hospital that is expanding its oncology infusion program.
• Day shift schedule, 5x8 hours, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM
• Uses Epic charting system
• Provides IV therapy, infusions, and central line/port care
• Administers chemotherapy via IV push, continuous infusion, and oral routes
• Manages oncologic emergencies including tumor lysis syndrome, anaphylaxis, extravasation, and sepsis
• Cares for patients across a wide range of cancer diagnoses including breast, lung, colorectal, and hematologic malignancies
• Provide direct patient care in an outpatient oncology and infusion center setting
• Deliver psychosocial support including patient/family education, symptom management, and advanced directive discussions
• Local candidates accepted at local rate within a 50-mile radius
• First-time travelers are not being considered for this role
• Returning employees must have a break in service of at least 1 year to be eligible to return as a traveler
