Job summary

American Traveler is seeking an experienced Infusion RN with chemotherapy administration experience for a day-shift oncology infusion center role in West Virginia. You will work in a high-volume cancer center, provide IV therapy, monitor chemotherapy, and ensure patient safety using Cerner for documentation.

Active WV or Compact RN license required; travel-friendly conditions and generous housing, per diem, and licensure reimbursements offered.

Qualifications

• Active RN license (WV or Compact) required; pending license accepted for consideration
• BLS certification required (AHA); OCN certification preferred
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience including 1-2 years chemotherapy/infusion experience
• Cerner charting system experience required
• Accessing/managing ports experience preferred
• Community hospital experience preferred
• Inpatient and outpatient oncology experience preferred
• Minimum of 2 Manager/Charge Nurse references from past 2 years required
• Clean license history required; no prior suspensions allowed (probations considered case-by-case)
• Flu vaccine required unless medical exemption documented by an allergist or physician

Responsibilities

• Work in the Infusion unit of a cancer center
• Daily caseload of approximately 70 patients with a 1:4 patient ratio
• Day shift schedule, 5x8-hour shifts from 0800-1630
• No on-call responsibilities required
• No floating required within or to sister facilities
• Uses Cerner for documentation
• Royal blue scrubs required
• Administer and monitor chemotherapy treatments in an infusion center setting
• Perform IV therapy and manage vascular access, including port access
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Candidates must live more than 100 miles from the facility; those between 75-99 miles may be considered case-by-case at the same rate
• Former permanent employees must wait 2 years from their last date of permanent employment before returning as a traveler
• Current employees of the Vandalia Health System (including CAMC, Mon Health, Davis Medical Center, Broaddus Hospital, Webster Memorial Hospital, Grafton City Hospital, Highland-Clarksburg Hospital, and Minnie Hamilton Health System) are not eligible for this travel contract
• Orientation held every other Thursday
• No restrictions on requested time off
