Job summary

American Traveler seeks an experienced RN for an outpatient Infusion Center in Modesto, CA. The ideal candidate holds a CA RN license and has oncology infusion experience, with strong IV therapy and line care skills.

This role features day shifts (4x10s), travel-friendly benefits, and housing/licensure reimbursements. You will collaborate with physicians and families, manage chemo and blood products, and uphold safety per NIOSH/USP 800.

Qualifications

• Active California RN license required.
• Current BLS certification required.
• ONS/ONCC Chemotherapy certification required.
• At least 2 years of recent oncology infusion experience.
• Outpatient Oncology Infusion Center experience preferred.
• Must reside within 50-mile radius for local rate eligibility.
• 2 supervisor references obtained within the past year.
• Experience in IV therapy, port access, central line and PICC care.
• Experience administering chemotherapy, blood products, coagulation factors.
• Knowledge of oncologic emergencies such as anaphylaxis, extravasation, sepsis.

Responsibilities

• Work in the outpatient Infusion Center of an acute care hospital setting.
• Patient population consists of oncology patients receiving chemotherapy, biotherapy, and infusion services.
• Patient ratio of 1:8.
• Day shift schedule, 4x10 hour shifts from 8:00am to 6:30pm.
• Rotating weekends required as needed.
• Epic charting system experience preferred.
• Provide holistic, individualized nursing care including assessment, care planning, and coordination of transitions of care.
• Collaborate with physicians, patients, and families to ensure effective communication and optimal patient experience.
• Handle hazardous drugs in accordance with NIOSH and USP 800 guidelines.
• Must reside within 50-mile radius for local rate eligibility.
• Returning employees must have a 1-year separation before returning as a traveler.
• Maximum RTO of 7 days per contract, with only 1 holiday request approved per contract.
• Holiday coverage required for major holidays.
• Must be available for lab work within 3-5 days of contract signing.
• 7-year work history verification required for all candidates.

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Infusion unit position requiring CA licensure and at least 2 years of recent oncology infusion experience.

Requirements

• Active CA RN license required
• Current BLS certification required
• ONS/ONCC Chemotherapy certification required
• ACLS and OCN certifications preferred
• At least 2 years of recent oncology experience required
• Prior outpatient Oncology Infusion Center experience preferred
• Busy outpatient infusion center travel experience required
• Skilled in IV therapy, port access and management, central line and PICC line care
• Experience administering chemotherapy, blood products, and coagulation factors
• Ability to recognize and manage oncologic emergencies such as anaphylaxis, extravasation, and sepsis
• Experience providing psychosocial care including patient/family education and symptom management
• Knowledge of care for patients with various cancer diagnoses including breast, lung, colorectal, and lymphoma
• 2 supervisor references obtained within the past year required for consideration
