Job summary

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Oncology Infusion RN with CA licensure, ONS Chemotherapy/Immunotherapy certification, and at least 2 years of recent oncology experience. The role is in an outpatient infusion center with day shifts and travel considerations.

Responsibilities

• Outpatient Oncology Infusion Center setting
• Day shift, 4x10 hours, 8:00 AM-6:30 PM
• Full-time schedule at 40 hours per weekRotating weekends as needed
• 1:8 patient ratio
• Epic charting system experience preferred
• Deliver holistic, individualized nursing care to oncology infusion patients
• Coordinate and evaluate plans of care incorporating psychological, sociocultural, and lifestyle factors
• Collaborate with physicians, patients, and families through effective communication
• Adhere to hospital policies and USP 800 guidelines for handling hazardous drugs
• Provide psychosocial support including advanced directives and hospice care discussions
• Manage symptoms such as nausea, neuropathy, and altered mental status
• Local candidates accepted at local rate
• Must reside within a 50-mile radius to qualify for travel rate
• Returning employees must have a 1-year separation before reapplying as a traveler
• Maximum RTO of 7 days per contract with only 1 holiday request allowed
• Holiday coverage includes New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, and Christmas
• First-time travelers considered with required outpatient infusion center experience

Job description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Oncology Infusion RN with CA licensure, ONS Chemotherapy/Immunotherapy certification, and at least 2 years of recent oncology experience.

Requirements

• Active CA RN license required
• Current BLS certification required
• ONS Chemotherapy/Immunotherapy Provider Card required
• ACLS and OCN certifications preferred
• At least 2 years of recent oncology experience required
• Prior outpatient Oncology Infusion Center experience preferred
• Travel experience in a busy outpatient infusion center required
• Skilled in IV therapy, port access/management, central line and PICC line care
• Experience administering chemotherapy, biotherapy, and managing related side effects
• Knowledge of oncologic emergencies including anaphylaxis, sepsis, and extravasation injury
• Experience caring for patients with various cancers including breast, lung, colorectal, and lymphoma
• Graduate of an accredited nursing school
