American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele-Neuro unit in Colorado. The role requires a CO or Compact license, BLS/ACLS, and 2+ years of RN experience with cardiac drips and post-cath lab care. Telemetry monitoring is provided 24/7 with dedicated tech support.

Self-scheduling and six weekend shifts every six weeks are expected. Remote onboarding may be possible for eligible travelers. Unit responsibilities include 1:4 day and 1:5 night patient ratios, complex CHF and COPD

Qualifications

• Active CO or Compact RN license required
• BLS and ACLS certifications (AHA) required
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Experience with cardiac drips and post cath lab patients required
• Experience titrating analgesics, anticoagulants, and antihypertensives required
• BSN not required
• Copy of driver's license required for consideration
• Two professional references required: one supervisor from within the last 12 months worked and one peer or supervisor from within the last 3 years worked, including dates of employment and rehire eligibility

Responsabilités

• Acute care Med/Surg Tele-Neuro unit (4S) with night shift 12-hour schedules
• Nurse:patient ratios of 1:4 day shift and 1:5 night shift
• Patient population includes CHF, hypertension, chest pain workups, COPD, asthma, pneumonia, pancreatitis, bowel obstructions, GI bleeding, and acute renal failure
• RNs titrate drips including analgesics, anticoagulants, and antihypertensives
• RT equipment on unit includes CPAP, HFNC, and NRB
• Continuous telemetry monitoring with tele techs reading strips 24/7 and RN co-signing
• Charge nurse takes an assignment and nurse aides support the unit at approximately 10-12 patients per aide
• Uses EPIC EMR
• Self-scheduling and block scheduling available
• Required to self-schedule a minimum of six weekend shifts per six-week schedule
• Holiday coverage required
• Floated first within the unit, with potential to float within Zone 3 in cases of extreme need
• Provide direct patient care on a busy Med/Surg Tele-Neuro unit with a mix of cardiac, respiratory, and GI diagnoses
• Co-sign telemetry strips monitored by dedicated tele techs
• Caribbean blue scrubs required for RNs at this facility
• Clinicians must be in-state for the week of orientation, even if initial modules are completed remotely
• Must reside at least 60 miles from the facility
• First-time travelers may be considered
• Candidates may not have been directly employed by any CommonSpirit-affiliated facility within the past year, though PRN employment through outside staffing firms will be considered
