American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Medical Surgical - Neuro telemetry unit at a Level I Trauma Center. Requires active CT or compact RN license, BLS, NIHSS, and 2 years of neuro telemetry experience.

Responsibilities include 3x12-hour night shifts, 1:4-5 patient ratio, float duties, and Epic charting. Travel assignment offers housing allowances and travel reimbursements.

Qualifications

• Active RN license CT or compact required prior to start date.
• Current certifications: BLS and NIHSS.
• Minimum 2 years of recent experience; 1.5 years considered if from a Level I trauma center or large hospital.
• Neuro MS/telemetry unit experience required.

Responsibilities

• Care for Medical Surgical - Neuro telemetry patients in a Level I Trauma Center.
• Maintain patient ratios of 1:4-5 on day and night shifts.
• Work 3x12-hour night shifts from 19:00 to 07:00.
• Perform float duties as needed.
• No on-call responsibilities.
• Use Epic for charting.

Job description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Medical Surgical - Neuro telemetry position requiring 2 years of experience at a Level I Trauma Center and an active CT or compact RN license.

Requirements

• Active RN license (CT or compact) required prior to start date
• Current certifications: BLS and NIHSS
• Minimum 2 years of recent experience required (1.5 years considered if from a Level I trauma center or large hospital)
• Neuro MS/telemetry unit experience required
• 1 professional reference required
• Flu vaccine required with no declinations accepted
• COVID vaccine and booster required, with religious or medical exemptions only

Responsibilities

• Medical Surgical - Neuro telemetry unit in a Level I Trauma Center, short term acute care hospital
• Patient ratio averages 1:4-5 on both days and nights
• Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 19:00 to 07:00
• Floating required
• No on-call responsibilities
• Epic charting system used
• Provide medical-surgical nursing care with telemetry monitoring for neuro patients
• Skills utilized may include IV therapy, central/peripheral line care, chest tube management, tracheostomy care, PCA, heparin protocols, and wound care
• Participate in cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia management, and rapid response/code team activations
• Travelers may be required to participate in natural disaster or emergency response activities
• Facility is a large academic medical center and Level I Trauma Center with 1,000+ beds
• RTO requests of up to 7 days can be auto-approved
• Local candidates not accepted; candidates within 75 miles of the facility are considered local
• Previous perm staff must be separated from the facility for at least 2 years to be considered as a traveler
• First-time travelers are not accepted for this position
