Job summary

American Traveler, LLC. is hiring a Night Shift RN for a Neurological/Neurosurgical Med/Surg unit in Baltimore, MD. This role requires 2+ years of Med/Surg/Tele acute care experience with neurology patients, an active MD or Compact RN license, and current BLS certification.

EPIC EMR experience is preferred, and prior travel nursing is a plus. You will work on a 14-bed unit, including a Joint Commission Comprehensive Stroke Center, with a schedule from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM.

Qualifications

• Active RN license (MD or Compact) required.
• Current BLS certification required.
• Minimum 2 years of Med Surg/Tele acute care experience with neurology patients.
• EPIC EMR experience preferred.
• Prior travel nursing experience preferred.
• Experience in 500+ bed facility preferred.

Responsibilities

• Care for adult patients on a 14-bed neuro/neurosurgical unit, including stroke center.
• Manage conditions such as spinal surgery, intracranial hemorrhage, seizures, and neurodegenerative diseases.
• Night shift schedule from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM.
• Every other weekend and on-call shifts as required.
• Provide nursing care for stroke, neurological, and neurosurgical patients.
• Orientation held on the 2nd and 4th Monday of each month.

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of Med Surg/Tele acute care experience required, with neurology patient experience specifically required

• Experience in a comparable facility size (500+ bed count) required

Responsibilities

• Work on a 14-bed acute care neurological and neurosurgical inpatient unit, including a 12-bed Joint Commission Comprehensive Stroke Center
• Care for adult patients with conditions such as spinal surgery, intracranial hemorrhage, subarachnoid hemorrhage, Parkinson's disease, multiple sclerosis, ALS, seizure disorders, and other brain or spinal column diseases
• Night shift schedule, 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
• Every other weekend required, with holidays as needed per unitAvailability for 2 (12-hour) on-call shifts per 6-week schedule
• Provide nursing care for stroke, neurological, and neurosurgical patients
• Orientation held on the 2nd and 4th Monday of each month
• Strong candidates preferred given the high-acuity academic medical center setting
• Local candidates accepted at the same rate
