American Traveler, LLC. is seeking an experienced RN for an Outpatient Stem Cell Transplant Clinic in Virginia. You will care for post-transplant and CAR-T patients, perform complex infusions, and work within a 7:00 AM–7:00 PM schedule with weekend coverage as needed.

The role requires a VA or compact RN license, BLS, chemotherapy certification, and stem cell transplant experience. Proficiency with IVs, central lines, and EPIC EMR is essential.

American Traveler is hiring an RN for an Outpatient Stem Cell Transplant Clinic position requiring stem cell transplant experience and chemotherapy certification.

Requirements

• Experience providing nurse-driven supportive care required

Responsibilities

• Outpatient Stem Cell Transplant Clinic located across the street from the main hospital
• 6-chair infusion clinic treating post stem cell transplant (allogeneic and autologous) and CAR-T patients
• Patient population includes post-transplant care, myeloablation/conditioning, heavy electrolyte replacement, IVIG, Pentamidine, and infection workups
• Acuity-based ratios typically 1 RN to 3-4 patients
• Staffing typically includes 2 RNs plus 1 Charge Nurse present each shift
• No LPN or CNA support staff
• Common infusions include chemotherapy, immunologics, biologics, blood products, hydration fluids, IV antibiotics, electrolyte replacement, PJP medications, vaccines, SQ and IM medications
• Provider in-house from 9:00 AM-5:00 PM with APP and MD coverage, provider on call after hours
• Uses EPIC EMR, Omnicell medication dispensing system, and Alaris IV pumps
• Nasal cannula respiratory support available; staff initiate BLS in emergencies until patient transfer
• Shifts scheduled 7:00 AM-7:00 PM, 3 shifts per week
• No self-scheduling or blocked scheduling; manager creates the schedule
• Occasional weekends required, typically 1-2 Saturdays per month and possibly 1 Sunday per month
• No on-call or floating requirements
• Provide nursing care and supportive treatment for stem cell transplant and CAR-T patients
• Adhere to neutropenic precautions and mandatory masking requirements
• Navy blue scrubs required; no artificial nails permitted
• Unit-specific orientation is 1 week or 3 shifts
• Unit remains open on all holidays, though holiday scheduling is avoided when possible
• Schedule flexibility is required due to manager-created scheduling
• Free on-site parking available
• Must reside within a 50-mile radius; local candidates accepted at a lower rate
• Previous permanent employees may return 12 months after their last shift worked
