Job summary

American Traveler, LLC. seeks an experienced RN for Med/Surg Float Pool in Missouri. Requires MO/Compact RN license, 2+ years bedside nursing, ACLS/BCLS, IV start and telemetry skills, with Relias EKG exam passed. Float through Med/Surg, Tele, Trauma, Oncology, and more in a 1,259-bed teaching hospital.

Day shift, 3x12s, 1:4-6 patient ratios, every other weekend, no on-call. EPIC charting; Navy scrubs. Travel terms include housing and licensure reimbursements and non-taxed per diems.

Qualifications

• Active RN license (MO State or Compact) required at time of consideration.
• Current certifications: ACLS and BCLS.
• Minimum of 2 years bedside nursing experience as an RN.
• IV start and telemetry skills required.
• Must pass Relias EKG exam covering interpretation and management of dysrhythmias.
• Preferred certifications: Chemo, CCRN, NIHSS, ONS, TNCC, CPI.
• Pending license accepted.
• First-time travelers not accepted.

Responsibilities

• Float within a large short-term acute care hospital to Med Surg, Tele, Trauma, Oncology, Heart and Vascular, Neuro, Medicine and COVID units, as well as ED Holding/Boarding.
• Some units are primary nursing assignments.
• Day shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM.
• Patient ratios of 1:4-6.
• Required to work every other weekend.
• No on-call requirements.
• EPIC charting system used.
• Float shift to shift across all inpatient units except Women's/Infant and Labor & Delivery.
• Must be able to work independently with strong nursing skills.
• Level I Trauma, teaching hospital setting with over 1,259 staffed beds.
• Navy scrub color required.
• No more than 7 days of RTO per 13-week contract, with no RTO permitted during the first week of orientation.
• Candidates must reside outside a 75-mile radius of the facility.
• Standard travelers may work up to an 18-month period before requiring a 3-month break.
• Former permanent employees must wait 1 year before returning to any facility within the health system as a traveler.
