Job summary

American Traveler, LLC is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Float Pool position at a 128-bed Level 2 trauma hospital in Little Rock, AR. The role requires AR or Compact RN licensure, BLS, and 2 years of medical/surgical experience, with night shifts, 48-hour guarantee, and floating to multiple units.

Candidates should plan to float across five units with a patient population including colorectal, hepatobiliary, bariatric, general, ortho, and medical conditions; Navy scrubs are required

Qualifications

• Active AR or Compact RN license required.
• BLS certification (AHA or ARC) required.
• Minimum 2 years of recent, relevant medical/surgical experience required.
• Large hospital experience required.
• BSN not required.
• Not required to titrate drips.
• Driver's license copy required for consideration.
• Two professional references: one supervisor within last 12 months and one peer or supervisor within last 3 years, with employment dates and rehire eligibility.

Responsibilities

• Acute care setting in a 128-bed Level 2 trauma hospital.
• Floats between Med/Onc and two surgical and two medical units.
• 6:1 nurse to patient ratio with total care model and no PCAs.
• Patient population includes surgical services and medical conditions.
• No telemetry monitoring required; occasional strip reading with remote monitoring.
• Facility transitioning to EPIC in November 2026, currently Cerner.
• Night shift with every other weekend.
• 48 hour guaranteed weekly hours.
• Floating to any Med/Surg pod; float staff prioritized first.
• No call or standby requirements.
• No holiday requirement.
• Charge nurse assigns each shift.
• Nurse aides/patient care techs present; unit orientation is 3 shifts.
• Navy scrubs required; scrubs not provided.
• Interview conducted directly with unit manager.
• Start dates 10/12 or 10/26 accepted.
• Candidates may not have been directly employed by any CommonSpirit-affiliated facility in past year.

• Night shift schedule with every other weekend required
• 48 hour guaranteed weekly hours
• Floating required to any Med/Surg pod, with float staff prioritized first
• No call or standby requirements
• No holiday requirement
• Charge nurse present each shift and takes an assignment
• Provide direct patient care within a busy medical/surgical float pool across five units
• Respiratory therapy support readily available; RNs perform nasal cannula management on the floor but are not responsible for ventilators, CPAP, or BiPap troubleshooting
• Nurse aides/patient care techs are present on units with varying ratios
• Unit-specific orientation consists of 3 shifts
• Navy scrubs required; scrubs not provided
• Staff are assigned to areas of need rather than self-scheduling
• Interview conducted directly with the unit manager
• Only 10/12 or 10/26 start dates accepted
• Candidates may not have been directly employed by any CommonSpirit-affiliated facility, including CHI and Dignity, within the past year; PRN employment through outside staffing firms is acceptable
