American Traveler is hiring a Med-Surg RN for a 12-week acute care assignment in Kansas. Active KS or compact RN license is required, with at least 1 year of inpatient experience and current BLS/NIHSS certifications.

The role includes a 7:00 AM–7:00 PM day shift, 6:1 patient ratio, and Meditech EMR usage in a 24-bed Med-Surg unit. Travel friendly with housing and licensure reimbursements, and a weekend shift pattern within a 4-week cycle.

Qualifications

• Active RN license (KS or compact) required.
• Current BLS and NIHSS certifications required.
• Minimum 1 year of recent inpatient acute care experience required.
• Basic dysrhythmia knowledge required.
• Trauma center experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• 4S Med-Surg unit within Tower B, 4th floor, a 24-bed unit.
• Day shift schedule, 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM.
• Patient ratio of 6:1.
• Weekend requirement of 4 shifts (Fri, Sat, or Sun) within a 4-week period.
• Uses Meditech EMR.
• Unit staffed with charge nurse, RNs/LPNs, PCTs, and unit clerk support.
• Equipment used includes Alaris IV pumps, Hoyer/Sarah Steady lifts, feeding pumps, Welch Allyn vital sign machines, iMobile, and vein finders.
• Virtual Admission RN support available 10a-10p.
• Perform procedures including PIV insertion/management/removal, central line management, foley catheter care, NG tube management, drain management, wound care, ostomy management, continuous bladder irrigation, chest tube management, and EKGs.
• Scrub color is royal blue, with black pants permitted.
• Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility, no local candidates accepted.
