Job summary

American Traveler, LLC. is seeking a Med/Surg Registered Nurse for a 13‑week travel assignment in Nashville, TN. Requires an active RN license (TN or compact) and BLS, plus a minimum of two years in Med/Surg.

Responsibilities include working on a 34-bed Post-Op unit with a 6:1 patient ratio, using Meditech for charting, and rotating three 12-hour shifts. Floating between contract staff and weekend responsibilities may apply.

• Med/Surg experience including IV starts, basic wound care, and management of surgical drains, nasogastric and chest tubes.

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg RN for a 13-week travel assignment requiring 2 years of recent specialty experience and a TN or compact RN license.

Requirements

• Active RN license (TN or compact) required
• BLS certification required
• Minimum 2 years of experience required
• Med/Surg experience required including ability to start IVs, perform basic wound care, and maintain surgical drains, nasogastric tubes, and chest tubes
• Strong prioritization and multitasking skills needed
• US SSN and DOB required for consideration (Canadian SSN not accepted)
• No gaps in work history exceeding 90 days within the past 12 months

Responsibilities

• Works in a 34-bed Post-Op Med/Surg unit (6th Ent/GI/Med Surg)
• Patient ratio of 6:1
• Tech support available on day and night shifts, with unit secretary coverage 7a-7p
• Uses IV pumps, telemetry, SCDs, continuous pulse ox machines, feeding pumps, PCA, EKG machines, bladder scanners, and iMobile communication technology
• Charting completed in Meditech
• Schedule consists of three 12-hour shifts per week on a 7:00AM-7:00PM rotation
• Requires working 2 weekends (4 shifts) per 4-week schedule
• Contract labor floats first, assigned by rotation among contract staff when multiple are scheduled
• Provide attentive, compassionate care with bedside shift report and personal connection with patients and families, including them in care planning
• Facility holds Comprehensive Stroke, ACS Verified Level II Trauma Center, and Certified Chest Pain Center designations
• Navy scrub tops and bottoms required as uniform
• Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility; local candidates are not accepted
