American Traveler is seeking a Med/Surg RN for night shift at a Level 1 Trauma Center in Illinois. Active IL RN license required with at least 12 months Med/Surg experience; BLS and NIHSS are required, ACLS preferred.

You will work 12-hour nights, 7pm–7:30am, 36 hours per week, floating to other Med/Surg units as needed. EPIC EMR experience is required; hospital supports a Magnet teaching environment with comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• BLS and NIHSS certifications required; ACLS preferred.
• Minimum 12 months of Med/Surg experience.
• Experience with chest tubes, post-op dressings, and ortho/trauma care.

Responsabilités

• Care for a 36-bed Med/Surg unit treating oncology, general surgery, and medical patients.
• RN patient ratio is 1:5, with 1:6 possible on a rotating basis.
• 12-hour night shift from 7pm to 7:30am, 36 hours per week.
• Schedule cycles every 6 weeks with every other weekend required.
• No on-call requirements; floating to other Med/Surg units as needed.
• Unit supported by receptionist/HUC, charge nurse, phlebotomy, IV/VAT team, RT, hospitalist, and telemetry monitoring.
• EPIC EMR experience is required.

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg RN for a night shift position at a Level 1 Trauma Center requiring at least one year of recent experience and an active IL RN license.

Requirements

• Active IL RN license required
• BLS and NIHSS certifications required; ACLS preferred
• Minimum 12 months of recent core experience in Med/Surg required
• Experience with chest tubes, post-op dressings, and ortho/trauma care required
• EKG experience preferred
• EPIC EMR experience required
• Candidate's middle name or initial needed for consideration
• Candidate DOB and last 4 of SSN needed for consideration
• Minimum one professional reference dated within the last year from a Supervisor, Manager, Director, or Charge RN

Responsibilities

• Work on a 36-bed Med/Surg unit treating oncology, general surgery, and medical patients
• Typical RN patient ratio is 1:5, with 1:6 possible on a rotating basis
• 12-hour night shift from 7pm to 7:30am, 36 hours per week
• Schedule cycles every 6 weeks with every other weekend required
• No on-call requirements
• Floating required to other Med/Surg units
• Unit supported by receptionist/HUC, charge nurse, phlebotomy, IV/VAT team, respiratory therapy, hospitalist, and centralized telemetry monitoring
• EPIC EMR required
• Uses Alaris IV pumps and Pyxis medication dispensing system
• Facility is a Level 1 Trauma Center, Level II NICU, Magnet-designated teaching hospital, and Primary Stroke Center
• At least one orientation shift provided to learn unit flow
• Holiday coverage required on a rotating basis as posted by the department
• Time off requests must be approved through the manager
• Navy blue scrubs required for RNs; teal for CNAs
• Free parking available
• Candidates with at least 1 year of experience will be considered; first-time travelers will not be accepted
• No radius restrictions; local candidates accepted at the same pay rate
• Former employees of Advocate Health or its subsidiaries must be separated for at least 12 months before becoming eligible for travel assignments
