American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg RN for a 13-week night shift assignment in Illinois. Active IL RN license and 2 years of Med/Surg experience with EPIC EMR are required, along with BLS.

The role features 12-hour night shifts, rotating days, and as-needed floating. Expect a 23-bed Med/Surg unit with telemetry and PCT support, plus a comprehensive benefits package and housing assistance.

Responsibilities

• PCT support available at 1:8 ratio.
• 12-hour night shifts, rotating 7A-7P/7P-7A.
• Every other weekend and every other holiday required.
• Floating may be required to ICU/ER/BHC based on experience.

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg RN for a 13-week night shift assignment requiring an active IL RN license and 2 years of Med/Surg experience with EPIC.

Requirements

• Active IL RN license required
• BLS certification (AHA) required
• Minimum 2 years of Med/Surg experience required
• EPIC EMR experience required
• Negative drug screen required for all panels

Responsibilities

• Acute care Med/Surg unit with 23 beds on the 4th floor and 14 beds on the 3rd floor
• Patient ratios typically 1:5, up to 1:7
• Common diagnoses include NSTEMI, COPD, pneumonia, sepsis, and AKI
• Telemetry monitoring in use, with monitor techs reading strips and RNs signing off throughout shift
• PCT support available at a 1:8 ratio
• Respiratory equipment limited to home units and heated high flow
• 12-hour night shifts, rotating 7A-7P/7P-7A
• Every other weekend and every other holiday required
• No on-call or standby requirement, though low census is possible
• Floating may be required to ICU, ER, or BHC based on experience level, otherwise no floating required out of Med/Surg
• Charge nurse and house supervisor support available
• Uses EPIC EMR
• One shift of department-specific orientation provided with a reference binder
• RNs are not required to titrate drips
• Any scrub color accepted, with closed-toed shoes and good hygiene required
• Local rate available for candidates with a permanent address within 50 miles of the facility
• No radius restriction for eligibility
• COVID vaccination not required
• Requested time off must be submitted prior to assignment start
