American Traveler is seeking a Med/Surg Registered Nurse for a Post-Surgical unit in Indianapolis, IN. IN or Compact license and BLS required; 1–2 years med/surg or post-surgical experience preferred.

You will work in a 34-bed Post-Surgical unit (3 West), caring for post-op general and bariatric patients, with a 1:5 nurse-to-patient ratio, Pyxis and Epic EMR usage, and rotating 3x12 shifts. No on-call; local candidates within 50 miles welcomed at a reduced bill rate.

Formación

• Active IN or compact RN license required.
• BLS certification required.
• Minimum 1-2 years of recent Med/Surg or Post-Surgical experience required.
• Epic EMR experience required.
• Experience with surgical drains required.

Responsabilidades

• Post-Surgical unit (3 West) within a hospital setting, 34 beds.
• Patient population includes post-op general surgery and bariatric surgery patients, plus overflow medical patients.
• Patient ratio of 1:5.
• Uses Pyxis medication dispensing system and Epic EMR.
• 3x12 rotating day/night shifts (0700-1930 or 1900-0730), 36 hours guaranteed weekly.
• Works every 3rd weekend and rotating holidays.
• No call requirements.
• Floating to similar med surg units based on rotation and needs.
• Provide nursing care to post-operative general surgery and bariatric surgery patients.
• Education modules assigned upon hire must be completed before reporting to the floor.
• Navy blue scrubs required.
• Report to Main Entrance/Door 12, 3rd floor Post-Surgical Unit, parking in yellow spaces.
• Strong patient advocacy and an easygoing, flexible personality are valued traits for this role.
• Local candidates accepted within a 50-mile radius at a reduced bill rate.
